@6554935b the plugin allows fediverse users to follow your authors and/or the complete blog. you can then boost these articles with your mastodon account. comments on the fediverse will be saved to your blog and we are also working on the way around, so that it will be possible that comments on your blog will be federated too.
does that answer your question?
@facd0a4e@15e2bc2d I do not think that it will be part of WordPress core any time soon, but we are working on bringing the functionality to WordPress.com !
@71cda427@796af16b comments will show up in WordPress but nothing more atm. but comments/replys/reactions will be a focus topic of one of the next versions!
@a7344720@796af16b for now, but we ( @6d4c1be9 and myself ) are about to release it on WordPress.com in the next few days/weeks. So every user will be able to use it, regardless of their tariffs.
@cda72b9b@53c578bc hmmm, the truth might be somewhere in the middle. NodeInfo has at least a `usage/users/activeHalfyear` and `usage/users/activeMonth` property, that should not be existant on WordPress, but maybe you are right and FediDB also calculates numbers.
Maybe @52c96f46 can help?!?
@041a37a3@16555d14@796af16b can you send me an example post and explain to me what you do not like or what you expect? Maybe I can help you with some tweakings.
@cda72b9b@53c578bc as I Said in my previous comment, on WordPress they are not calculated at all and 0 by default. If there are other numbers then they were tweaked by blog-owners.
@cda72b9b@53c578bc ah, misread your question a bit! It is showing the WordPress version, but not the plugin version!
I thought it might be a way more important info that you use WordPress and the plugin is not that important.
The plugin provides these informations, but they will not be aggregated, because they are in the "unstructured" meta part of NodeInfo.
@Luca Sironi@Alex Kirk@3ae7e2cf@8d183749@6d4c1be9@a3a5e59c@8911bdc9 We have not released it on WordPress.com yet, so that's why there are no guides yet :)
It is planned to have a really simple version for $name.wordpress.com sites, without all the setup options that are currently possible, to not distract/confuse users. For the first release, the username will be `$name.wordpress.com@$name.wordpress.com`
We just released version 1.0.0 of the #WordPress #ActivityPub plugin! 🎉
This is the first release under the umbrella of #Automattic!
Thanks to Automattic and all the fantastic people who helped with this great release!
@6d4c1be9 for the amazing new blocks!
@8d183749 for the http-signatures
@3ae7e2cf for several Jetpack compatibilities
@a3a5e59c for the design of the settings and blocks
@8911bdc9 for all the texts and documentation
@Alex Kirk for a lot of big and small contributions
