Oddbean new post about | logout
 @796af16b @0c3a0f82 it is a good effort but I checked a few installations running this and it seems to be completely invisible on all I saw, you just have to somehow be able to know you can search for the account of a user on the fediverse... I guess it would be quite useful to have some kind of visible UI elements that get enabled with it as well.
 @16555d14 @796af16b the new version brings some nice blocks, to add a "follow" dialogue to your side and/or show your followers!

other question from someone that read blogs but never got a blog.

i guess comments coming from fediverse can be pre moderated on post moderated from the blog owner on his website, right ?

(Of course if a blog post appear in our timelines we can go on boosting/commenting it forever like a newspaper article or whatever other content)
 @16555d14 @796af16b @0c3a0f82 There are ways to promote Mastodon/fediverse accounts on any WordPress blog (even free WordPress.Com accounts) via widgets in sidebars and footers.

I'm experimenting with ActivityPub + Friends plugins on several blogs but because the Featured Images don't display properly for me when I view them from this account, I'm not sure I want to promote those blogs directly.

I'm still manually sharing content when it's published to ensure I can see my Featured Images. But I'm probably just being prissy at this point.

The Friends plugin is still a little iffy but it's recently been enhanced and I need to scale up my experimentation to learn more about what to expect.
 @041a37a3 @16555d14 @796af16b can you send me an example post and explain to me what you do not like or what you expect? Maybe I can help you with some tweakings.
 @0c3a0f82

This is a recent post and the screen capture below is what I see. I don't use a Mastodon client. I only access it from the C.im Website, if that matters.

I also don't use the Gutenberg editor in WordPress. I use the Classic Editor (in case that matters).

And this post was published on a multisite network (using subdomains).

The "Not Available" is where the Featured Image should be.
