Exciting to see #micropython 1.21 arrive. Removal of the u-prefixes and some of the tweaks to board naming are key changes to know about. Just updated the Wikidata entry to add it to the list. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MicroPython
Today was a bit stressful & tiring, mostly because I work hard to be open to a broad range of opinions, and dislike having to take decisions that leave folks deeply dissatisfied. Knowing that I’ve done so in good faith, without resorting to shouting, whilst enforcing a code of conduct, makes things easier. It is *definitely* not always how I’ve reacted in the past, so I’m grateful to my past self for learning the hard way.
Tomorrow, will be a new day.
@f3ad697a noted - might be something we can improve in a future release. Just to check, you’re referring to the default web UI right? (I’m guessing so with the references to DOM etc). I can raise an issue in the morning if it doesn’t exist already.
@ff2993ad thanks for the thoughtful status update! I’ll do what I can (where and when I can) to continue to help out - appreciate your openness to collaboration and contributions! 👍🏻
I have various Lipo batteries with JST connectors, and a specific device (a Lilygo T-Deck) with a micro JST / JST-GH socket on board. I'm just going to have to solder on a smaller connector, aren't I? 😞
@6e7c49dd@8db07721 limited edition for these ones at the moment (i.e. I'm sharing them at events). As you may already know, there is an official merch store, but this particular design is not there. https://freshstore.co/collections/mastodon
If *you* want a lovely @Mastodon sticker like the one Bill Thompson's laptop is now sporting, come and find me during #AllThingsOpen in Raleigh Oct 15-17, and let's talk about Open Source, open standards, and social platforms! /cc @8db07721https://someone.elses.computer/@billt/111175964185265189
As an historian by study and interest, and a technologist, and a social network researcher / implementer, and believer in and contributor to Open Source software and movements, this intersection of my interests in one talk is phenomenal (Shout-out to @13ac8f7f for posting about the event, that’s why I’m aware of it and here)
Talking about the first Cyberia cafe in Tottenham Court Road back in 1994! Just as I was starting at university - I was very quickly helping to administer the computer room in the basement of one corner of the college back at the time.

@e7e3f9e2 😬 yeah at least with the bus I could get off at the next stop and turn around! The only reason I'm on the bus is that the train skipped the station that I needed, though... Not my day so far!
On the plus side, I’ve been able to set up Signal on the new phone; on the downside, it’s a start-over so if you have my details we’ll have to start a fresh chat.
I erased my old iPhone before realising that it means I can't transfer Signal to the new one 🤦♂️ and now trying to set it up fresh on new phone is giving a "Something went wrong" error... argh! Super-secure messaging!
@f59234f5 thanks for the info, always interested to learn from others! We've been fairly heavy users of Micron so far, and yet to venture into fountain pens - but curious to do so.
@13ac8f7f little bit surprised that I can't find Newspeak and Cybersalon on Mastodon yet, hopefully folks will think about joining us here now, especially with the BBC and others showing the way forward.
