The old #linux business seems to be going quite well. The HP POS seems almost usable now that Win10 isn't perpetually running the CPU @ 100% and sucking up 95% of the available storage to the point where updates couldn't be installed. The hardware is still shit and, IMHO, should never have been sold as a Windows machine. I'm not going to be loading up #linux on my daily driver anytime soon but it has kept this particular piece of HP shit out of the recycling.

Just installed Linux Mint on an HP Piece of Shit; how much of a smug bastard will this turn me into? For the sake of argument, let's assume I'm not a smug bastard already.

It's functional, it's incredibly useful, it's a product of rigourous scientific study, it's used daily by a huge number of people all over the world, it's scrupulously cleaned between each and every use. It's a pear shaped boiling flask!! Anyone who thought otherwise needs to go and stand in the corner...and bend over.
It Has Come To Our Attention That The Toyota Butt Plug Is Actually A Pear-Shaped Boiling Flask

Tusky seems to be losing chunks of the timeline recently so I went looking for another client and found this one, Moshidon. It's a fork of the official Mastodon client, which I've never used but don't hear anything very good about, and it seems to be very slick.

I did some plumbing, I did some watertight plumbing. Fuckin' A. A bit of snot on one of the solders but the other three were, surprisingly, spot on. I don't quite feel confident enough to tackle the rest of the crappy old pipework that goes away under the floor, partly because I can't pull a vacuum on the system and would have to drain down, but who knows...one day.

@0eb69558 I just wish I'd be slightly more conscious! I'm not sure if the noughts and crosses was the most embarrassing thing about the evening, being wrecked after less than two pints of cider was a major failing in front the hard drinking team members. Dehydration can jump up and bite you in unexpected ways.

Wouldn't it would be lovely if the 'fun bucks' simply fucked right off or even just reduced to a small coterie of circle jerkers? Not sure it's happening anytime soon though, even with the US playing hardball.

Embrace your sweatiness! It doesn't matter how long I work out for or how many calories the app says I've burnt, unless I get a decent sweat on it doesn't feel like I've achieved that much.

Or one of the Firefox forks, Waterfox or the one I use which is Librewolf on PC. It seems to work very well straight out the box and avoids having to delve into some of the Firefox settings to stiffen it up.

Well bollocks. The quick reviews I saw made it sound like something different, sufficiently different that I assumed (yes, I know) that it wasn't going to be based on Chrome.
Doesn't look much does it? It took a ridiculous amount of time!! I can only ascribe it to a lack of talent(and a lack of knowledge of Krita). Bits and pieces were spread across six layers and I wasn't very disciplined about managing them so when I was erasing, as I was frequently, thinking something was in an inactive layer, only to find it was in the active layer. I also spent a lot of time zoomed in, tidying up curves, erasing, redrawing, only to find when I zoomed out again that I had a completely different curve. I planned on doing much of this as vector lines and shapes; didn't happen. The heel is the only vector shape I kept. I guess this whole exercise is good for fine motor skills but I'm not sure it's doing a lot for my eyesight? Needless to say, the heart motif was imported and tweaked a little for colour and transparency and to make it look intertwined around the heel.

Wish I could but no, sorry. I resisted spending about Β£70 on a pair of strappy sandals yesterday but I generally have to do that a couple of times a week.

Can you say what you find different about the original? I looked at the original and, without having them both available to make a comparison, I couldn't spot any glaring differences between it and the cheap version?
@4b779344 It might be unoriginal but black is usually my go to for anything I wear, kink or otherwise, but I'm prepared to make an exception for those white stilettos!!

I haven't thought about or heard that song in many years; I hope you are not going to be responsible for it rattling around in my brain for the rest of the day?!

I've shaved my head for decades. Played a cricket match, didn't eat anything all afternoon, dehydrated and got shit faced very quickly down the pub and must have nodded off, head down on the table. When I woke up and rubbed my head, my hand came away covered in red, eventually I was informed that a couple of the WAGS had been playing noughts and crosses on my head using lipstick. Very amusing for them, somewhat arousing for me.

James Dean Bradfield is such an underrated guitarist. He does a fabulous version of She Sells Sanctuary I just found down the rabbit hole you just sent me on.
