If you are a Chrome user, you've probably been been opted-in to Google's enhanced tracking system without any warning. Chrome's newest update pretends to provide users "Enhanced ad privacy", but actually enrolls Chrome users into a new trackings system. To disable Google's "advanced" ad tracking, go to Settings>Privacy and Security>Ad Privacy and disable all three options there (Ad Topics, Site-suggested Ads, and Ad Measurement). https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/020/681/563/246/961/original/2a4142734ace2ee0.mp4

@df4399c3 I might suggest one small edit: To disable Google's "advanced" ad tracking, go to http://firefox.com and download Firefox for your platform. When it launches, import all your stuff from Chrome, make Firefox your default browser, and then install uBlock Origin from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ Boom, invasive tracking gone. (For the nerds: Firefox is now performance-competitive with Chrome, and works for 99% of things. It's nothing like it was in 2009ish when we all switched away.)
