I’m such an old man. Left the Bitcoin Unconference early today to come chill at my hotel 😂. Met a few cool bitcoiners while at the event though. Met the guy who set up the Bitcoin House Bali and it looks awesome. Never heard about it until today. Gonna have to make it over there at some point.

The downside of coming to El Salvador is that I always manage to eat or drink something that wrecks my stomach for a couple days. Doing pushups on a wrecked stomach makes it harder, but they’ve got to get done.
I think it depends on your lifestyle and where you go in the country. I love coming here. It’s my 4th time. If you come in November around the time of @AdoptingBitcoin, you’ll meet tons of bitcoiners from all over the world.
If you surf or can just chill on the beach all day, you’ll probably enjoy it. I think El Zonte has weekly casual bitcoin meetups at restaurants that accept bitcoin. I went to one on Fri and there was about 20 people there which I was told is about the average amount of people that show up.
One of the workers at the hotel just asked one of the guests, “English or Spanish”, and the first thing I thought about was that whoever moves first is gay meme 😂
Where are you staying? If you’re coming in at night, everything will probably be closed already in Zonte, so make sure you bring some beef jerky as a back up meal. 😂
Been in El Tunco for 3 days now. I prefer staying in El Zonte. I’d only recommend Tunco over Zonte if you like to party. I think next trip I’m going to try staying in Mizata.
Haven’t tried that one yet, but in general I like the food spots better in El Zonte even though there’s fewer options. I also asked some other bitcoiners that live in Zonte and they agree.
Zonte is way more bitcoin friendly. No one in Tunco seems to accept bitcoin. I went to Zonte for one evening, visited 3 different spots, and every location was happy to accept bitcoin. I talked to the worker at Low Tide and she said they use some local company called Ditto to accept bitcoin and she said it’s great. They only get charged a 1% processing fee.
