Overall, I'm glad. I own a house now (well, the bank still owns it,but they let me stay here for a reasonable rate). And, most of the community are reasonable. Just a lot of loudmouths on social media.
Once upon a time, there was a nurse who worked too much overtime. She said, "my community needs me!". One day, she dropped dead. And no one came to her funeral because she had no friends outside work, and all her work friends were working overtime that day.
The end.
Dang. Made two Spinsters cry.
It's OK, guys. I only worked 40 minutes of overtime today.
And, boss gave us pizza! I saw all the clerical and support staff sitting down in the boardroom with management, while I grabbed a couple of slices and took them back to the nurse's station. And no one told infection control I was eating at the desk!!
I feel positively giddy.
OMG, OMG, OMG... CBC is the unintentional comedy gift that keeps on giving! Apparently we're only hung up on this Nazis in Parliament thing because of partisan politics.
Working class Canadians are Nazis for having a protest, but parliamentarians are worker than woke for giving a WWII war criminala standing ovation.
I don't think the Leopards Eating People's Faces party will stick to just the bad people that I don't like.
If you think that they will stick to the bad people that you don't like, well, I wish you luck with that.
I've had differences of opinion with our fearless leadership before, I've cringed at hypocrisy, I've been deeply angry, but I've never been embarrassed to be a Canadian before.

So, the staffing office fucked up my hours. so badly. So very, very, very badly. They just... I can't... Why would anyone... It doesn't even make sense, and if we did it their way, we would have no nurses working every second Monday. And, then they get mad at us for working too much overtime, but, I'm like, dude, if your fucking rotation made any fucking sense, you fuckers! Just...
I can't even.
(the worst part is, they've overpaid me, but it's so stupid that it bugs me)
Good to know, but I don't think I'll mention it to them at this time...
Ah, the boy has retreated to the family room, and the mister has retreated to the ham radio shack. The Morse code sounds fast, inaccurate, and angry. Fortunately, the boy is gaming with headphones on, so I can only hear the occasional groan.
I've had a rather stressful week at work, so of course my son and husband had to get in a big fight, and they're both trying to get me on their side, but I'm like, "I have no opinion on the best way to cook pork, please leave me out of this" so now I'm just thinking I should go drive around by myself and eat ice cream.
I thought the Braden scale was developed in the UK? I mean, pressure sores aren't always indicative of bad nurses, but they always indicate poor care.
(Sorry, but how are you not doing qshift Braden scale assessments on a quadriplegic? Are they that overworked?)
