Having the kind of #migraine day that results in nausea, dizziness, light and sound sensitivity, muscle spasms in my right arm and hand, and excruciating pain in not only my head but also my neck, shoulder and upper back. It’s so odd to think I’ve been having these since toddlerhood. I literally don’t remember my life without them.
@bf882066 I’m sorry this happened to you. I grew up watching it happen to my dad and it’s nauseating how our society ignores it. Me seeing my dad be threatened and abused by my mom doesn’t even qualify as an adverse childhood event because the quiz specifies abuse happening to mom or female caregiver ONLY. I know I’m only one person but I will always listen and believe. You matter. Your trauma matters.
In the 1950s when my dad was 5, before starting school, he taught himself to multiply double-digit numbers together by counting the holes in both directions on a window screen. He would melt down if different types of food touched each other on his plate. He was brilliant to the point of perpetual academic boredom, and absolutely incapable of staying focused in classroom settings. #Neurodivergence is totally a new phenomenon though.
