Anyone ever wonder why the western suit dominates the whole world? Even other cultures like Russia and Japan wear them..... Just seems weird..... The whole world is like one culture.....
I have done budget gaming PC's with secondhand HP towers. Best way to get hardware and ram on the cheap. Just throw in a new graphics card and you are rolling.
Using a rack mounted server looks a little extreme though.
Matty the Rad is right, but for all the wrong reasons. Small societies are great as communes. I am thinking of a couple dozen agreeable astronauts working together.
However, to scale a civilization you will need money to allocate resources. You can't trust people you don't know to honestly allocate resources. There is also that looming economic calculation problem that socialists will never solve.
So Matty the Red is just lost in dogma.
You believe in the book of Mormon, but don't consider yourself a Mormon? How does that work? You must be a member in the organization or else you aren't Mormon?
I see. You must have a lot of courage to pursue the truth this way. I hear Mormons tend to shun "apostates."
Question: By your own omission you believe Joseph Smith to be deeply flawed and perhaps untrustworthy. Which is fine on its own, the Bible is full of examples where God acts through sinners. However, the entire book of Mormon hinges on Joseph Smith's revelation of God' will. How do you still believe that the Book of Mormon is real and not just a fabrication of an extraordinarily charismatic man?
The shunning is understandable. Ideas are contagious, and your ideas are particularly dangerous to an LDS person.
Well this is interesting. Never had a Morman person throw real apologetics at me before. Usually missionaries are like "trust me bro, pray to God and he will let you know in your heart if its all true." This always struck me as weak, anyone in a vacuum can conjure up a feeling to tell them whatever they want.
If every antagonistic action that someone takes against you is discrimination you never learn a thing. Was this Lesbian insufferable to work with? Was she terrible at her job? Perhaps the leadership just sucked at the company. She'll never pull a valuable lesson from this experience because her empoyers are simply "homophobes." You can't take corrective action with that mentality. The victim mentality robs people of agency.
Okay lots of doom porn in here and I wanna contribute! I don't think the government would just 6102 coinbase, too much heat for them and they would clearly be the bad guy. Bad for narratives.
Scenario: Government is teeing up a massive black swan event.
Suppose some fed spook commands key people in Coinbase to leave vulnerabilities. Hackers rush in and sweep Coinbase's Bitcoin. What would happen? Every ETF except Fidelity collapses. Plus whoever else was custodying with Coinbase. What would the boomers learn from this? Not your keys not coins? Don't centralize custody? No way, tradfi talking heads will be screaming "told you so" about the fake-internet-money-hacker-coins. Everyone runs back to the "safe" fiat institutions that don't have hacking problems. Mainstream adoption is set back many years. Every inch gained in "number go up" from the ETF demand evaporates. This mental high we have been riding in 2024 from all the mainstream adoption is suddenly gone.....
Why would the feds do this? Squash a threat to doller hegemony. Psyop the public into staying on the sinking ship. They get to save us with Crypto regulation, and everyone who sank with Coinbase will be crying for blood. Imagine grandma testifying before Congress who lost everything with the ETF.....
Kinda clickbaity. Not a cavity with water, fish can't swim through it. Apparently there is a mineral that can soak up water. Which is cool I guess, but I wanted a hiding place for Megladon.
I like ranked choice in theory. I want to break this rule of 2 system that picks the two people we get to choose between.
However, I am suspicious of all the wrong people pushing for ranked choice. Is there a problem with it I should be aware of?
Yeah roll bars only work if you wear your belt. Better off without the bar if you don't wear it.
My Ag teacher loved to tell the story of a local kid who had both his arms sanded off by a round bailer. He was clearing a jam, and the PTO kicked in without warning. Since his wounds were abrasive we was able to walk a couple miles for help without bleeding out.
