True! I was very surprised and pleased when it "just worked"

Pretty much my whole #Nostr thesis is that it should enable a better marketplace for ideas and capital and so outcompete legacy on its merits.

Have spoken with a lot of people about the incoming bans on social media in Australia, and the viewpoint seems to be—
1. They're not actually doing that are they?
2. There's no technical way to do that
3. If they do that I won't comply
4. If they make me comply I'll do a workaround
5. They're not going to enforce it anyway
That's either a hopeful viewpoint, or sleepwalking.
Nostr is well positioned as it seems to be incompatible with the legislation as I understand it.

I am just catching up on how Australia wants to ban social media for under 16 year olds.
Will they try to ID all internet users?
How will they define social media?
Are they truly going to punish a 15 year old for connecting with their family on Facebook?
Where are my #austrich at. What is this nonsense?
From a purely pragmatic POV.
Any 15 year old can publish to any relay without permission. Can run their own relay. Can run their own client. Can do so anonymously.
Hell they can already do it with Minecraft, let alone Nostr.
How will this even work?
#nostr business idea - curated relays by subscription.
As a user, I want an awesome feed, but how to get one is unclear, and so "time to aha!" is long. I get fed up and churn.
Instead! Rather than build my own follow list, or accept default follows, I subscribe to relays by well-known curators.
My feed becomes awesome immediately. And if I want to further tweak it I can add or remove a curator at will.
Curators can charge, or support with sponsored content (traditional media business model).
Users can add relays to client feeds or browse each discretely in relay-centric clients.
Platform builds a brand around having the best curators, and markets the curators for further reach.
Platform manages marketing, subscription, and auth, and self funds through a % of earnings earned by curators on the platform.

Everything we have is only because someone cared enough to make it happen.
There is no shortage of capital out there to fund things. What's missing is passionate people with big ideas who are going to give a damn and work hard to make them happen.
We need more visionaries!
In case screenshot resolution didn't show, I'm viewing my feed, my inbox relay, my outbox relay, and nostr:nprofile1qqs8eseg5zxak2hal8umuaa7laxgxjyll9uhyxp86c522shn9gj8crspz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgjwaehxw309ahx7um5wgerztnrdakj7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctc58hv2s's "ephemeral" election coverage relay
If this pattern were to take off I can see power-user centric apps for relay admin sitting alongside client apps. Which would be pretty cool for power users, and super interesting in organisational contexts.
How to you admin the whitelist? Are you editing flat files in code?
Do any relays have API endpoints for configuration which an admin app could build upon (add whitelist npubs, words, etc)?
Yet to try this but it sounds like a very cool and useful approach to crafting your own feed. TLDR, push the curation to the relay, run a dumb client.

I looked into this and thought it would be great. I am not very technical, but failed to find a solution for secp256k1 support. I believe Nostr and Bitcoin share this need. So there must be a solution as Casa uses Yubikey for Bitcoin multisig quorum.
I think a USB+NFC variant which can be used on phone and desktop would be an interesting UX

This looks awesome. I am thinking on these lines for Fishburners startup community. I wonder.
Could it handle one relay with multiple NIP-29 groups inside?
Trying to figure out the recipe book!
Thanks! For clarity I was mostly thinking about the UI pattern in your client app. E.g. if my community currently in Slack has multiple "channels", I can replace Slack with a relay, and the channels with NIP-29 groups, but there may need a visual hierarchy of "Relay>Group" or at least a grouping of Relay1Group1,2,3,Relay2Group1,2,3, etc.
Just musing. Trying to figure out the correct pattern
