I'm not disagreeing. Tho, it was consensus that NIP04 is not ideal and should be replaced. And now look how many clients support the new format and how many only speak NIP04 still.
It's hard to move or fix things on a decentralized protocol.
Imo it has to do with irrational high real estate prices (potentially depending where you life).
Back then you built or bought a house for your family with basically a 2 years salary (paid off in idk 10 years). Today most people likely never will be able to afford one with their salary. So the big thing to buy is off the table for most people. Fiat money will continue to lose value, so fck it, why save it? I would see it the same way, wasn't it for Bitcoin. While I do agree with that, people are used to likes, coming from other platforms. When I get 25 reactions but see only 1, I easily get the impression this place is not worth my time as nobody interacts with me, notices my content etc, and go back to Bluesky/Xitter/Zuckerberg.

You actively don't count reactions, you filter reactions. Why blame other clients? Even if you don't care about the emoji and don't want to add it, still a kind 7 event exists and you guys filter it out instead of just counting it. And please understand I'm not trying to blame and critic here, I just want to make you aware that your users might be happier to actually see reactions they get on their notes. Even if you count all kind 7 reactions just as a heart(+), people know someone interacted with them. Am I wrong about this?
I run some, Pablo runs one, Primal runs some. They should be the same on all clients but Primal doesn't follow the workflow but uses their own Cache, so they are not letting users contact the DVMs but do it for them. They are not really like relays. More like really processing providers

Some DVMs just fetch from relays. I store the last 2 days of notes in a local database and search there.
