Apple CarPlay (https://9to5mac.com/guides/carplay/) is the safest way to interact with your iPhone in the car. You never need to touch your iPhone while driving – something you should never ever do anyway. Instead, you control navigation, communication, and entertainment with voice control and a simplified interface on your car’s screen.

What if your car doesn’t have a built-in display? What if it has one that doesn’t work with Apple CarPlay? The good news is you don’t have to go out and buy a brand new car. In most cases, you can have a really good in-dash system installed for anywhere from $200 to $1,000. Picking the right solution before you make the investment is important.

According to the company, the overheating was caused by software, not by hardware or design flaws. Apple also said that it wouldn’t reduce the A17 Pro chip’s performance with the update – but is that true? We tried to find out with some preliminary tests.

https://9to5mac.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/6/2023/09/iPhone-on-fire-1-1.jpg?quality=82&strip=all&w=1600

Over the last week, a number of iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro users (https://9to5mac.com/2023/09/26/iphone-15-overheating/) have complained (https://9to5mac.com/2023/09/27/new-iphone-15-pro-design-overheat/) of their new devices overheating and running (https://9to5mac.com/2023/09/26/iphone-15-pro-overheating-updates-fix/) at abnormally high temperatures. In response to those complaints, Apple has announced that a software update is on the way to remedy the problems.

Notably, Apple confirmed to _9to5Mac_ that the new titanium design of the iPhone 15 Pro is not the cause of any overheating problems.

The company also says that the software update coming to iOS 17 does not in any way reduce performance to address iPhone temperature concerns.
