@dabe0ad5 Blackpilled already? You're too young. On a serious note, it doesn't hurt to make a small effort like this to remove a bad policy while working on alternative solutions.
@87e0b6e2 Technically, this bill is about Local Meat Processing. But, I get what you're saying... There's pros & cons to U-Pick. It's not as if small scale farmers are getting rich from it. A lot of waste happens...
I can tell say that I'd much rather buy a local turkey for Thanksgiving by folks I know than buying one that's been to who knows where & handled by "x" amount of workers before it's bought frozen at the market.
If you care about buying Local (small farms to pick pumpkins & apples & farmer markets to buy local honey & ingredients, mom&pop shops for homemade items), despise cronyism, & support sustainable practices...🐝
Please support House Resoution (HR 2814) & Senate Bill (S. 907) PRIME Act.
This bill has been in Committee for years. Take the time & write. Be respectful.
If you don't know who your Reps are, links & talking points are available in thread.

Talking Points:
• Passage of the PRIME Act would better enable farmers to meet booming demand for locally produced meat.
• Passage of the PRIME Act would improve food safety.
• Passage of the PRIME Act would improve food security.
• Passage of the PRIME Act would not be competition to the conventional meat industry; the meatpackers and small farms have mostly different markets.
• Passage of the PRIME Act would keep more of the food dollar in the state and community.
