I still kinda want to move my casual desktop use to the Deck. But that opens some cans of worms like do I need an external hdd with power supply or is the official dock enough.
I'm also interested in a small external ssd for backup.
And yeah, the dream of having a sanely organized set of ssd / hdd. Maybe even a NAS if they weren't so costly.

I'm still processing the fact that Sousou no Frieren is labeled as a Shonen, and how it's wrong and actually how hilariously un-shonen it is.
In a shonen the protag want something. He obnoxiously wants that fucking thing and nothing else matter in the universe.
In Frieren, the protag didn't get that thing and have to deal with her existence without the thing.

Started Ion Fury and overall I’m disappointed.
The level design isn’t up to snuff, for one. Big area, three color keys. Big area, three color keys. Rinse and repeat.
And the game is quite punishing when you are hit, so it often feels safer to just use the aim bot mode of the basic gun than risk getting a big hp loss. Monotonous.
I will continue if I have the skill, it’s good enough I guess, but yeah…

I think a big roadblock for me in Ultrakill is that I would need a mouse with three side buttons ? Maybe. To put all the shit which is keybound to my left hand area.
Because yeah, I can begrudgingly, as an old man with tremors, use slide or dash on 'left shift' and 'left ctrl'. Both is pushing in a twitchy game, but...
When you had a punch button on 'F' and a change weapon style on 'E', MY LEFT HAND HAS A PANIC ATTACK.
I replayed Ultrakill demo. I even finished it this time !
I don't really have words to describe how insane and speedy it is.

My recent obsession with boomer shooters could be explained by their density. I have long lamented modern games being bloated mess, and here is some form of an answer.
Here is a good game, instantly gratifying, it will take you one or two days to play through, thanks for your patronage.

You don't need to block three months to play them, and they are not written like what if war & peace but with a complete lack of narrative skill.

Ghostrunner finished.
I acknowledge this as filling a very specific niche for fans of hardcore one shot experiences, but not much more.
Writing is super predictable, not a lot of variety in environments, even the parkour is repetitive, like it or not (I don't) I fear it's clearly not more than the sum of its parts. It's there.

In order to not buy yet another game, I decided to play Ghostrunner.
I found the demo annoyingly die & retry but hey, what could go wrong.
Everything ? No but seriously, it's pretty but also extremely punishing, to an absurd level, and repetitive.
The pitiful narrative the game tries to weave also becomes obnoxious real fast when it's only conveyed by dialogs that happen during your parkour. Like, shut up people, I'm trying not to die and you keep droning on about your tired lore.

Realistically, I will have to settle for another fucking black rectangle.
I mean I could simply buy a new Illuminated Keyboard, but the last time I checked Logitech asked for an indecent price, higher than some mechanical keyboards.
Colors are great, too, until they aren’t. My eyes were opened by my last mouse, a lovely ‘cheap’ lavender mouse by Logitech. But I see you, OCD, no color scheme will please me and the next thing I know I will have to lube 100+ keys.
I also would like to add that if I'm constantly crying for an OLED screen, it's not for 'those blacks'.
It's just that my Deck has IPS glow up the wazoo.
Kinda noticeable only in the library, but bruh, really noticeable.

Finished Doom Patrol: The Silver Age vol.2
Globally far weaker than vol.1. Arnold Drake phoned it in. Constant 'funny' bickering between teammates, heavy use of dated slang and a distinct impression of the book being targeted to kids. Prosaic fights aplenty. Even the glorious Monsieur Mallah and the Brotherhood of Evil can't save this when they seemingly appears ever other issue.
Premiani's art, while dated, continues improving.

The Steam Deck is beginning to feel high maintenance in my home.
I love/hate it, but I can't stop buying things for it.
Currently trying to determine if I should sell the 256 / buy the 512 or 'simply' buy the parts I need on ifixit.
Kinda tempted to mix BG3 with some weeb game. Sorta joining two opposite flavors of gaming.
Sure, I have P5R to finish. But once you hit 100+ hours, friends don't talk about playing P5R.
Maybe one of the short ADV games that made a small resurgence these last few years.
