Four years ago, my grandmother called in a panic.
Something about the election results.
When I didn’t seem bothered, she pressed.
“Biden’s going to ruin the country. I’m old and it wont affect me, but I’m worried about you, your job and your family. Aren’t you?”
I smiled. I was still working on boats at the time, but I had a plan.
“No, Nanny. I’m not worried about my job, or my family’s future. No president is going to determine that. Don’t you worry about us.”
A lot has changed in 4 years.
- I’ve been blessed with 2 beautiful daughters.
- A new career that doesn’t feel like work.
- Financial independence.
And now, another election.
Both sides convinced that this is the last election, should their party lose.
I can’t promise the fear-mongering, extreme opinions or polarizing news will abate.
But I can promise you this:
The next president isn’t going to determine your future success.
You will.
“Controlling the money is a very dangerous path down which, if we go, people will use to control all kinds of behavior they otherwise shouldn’t.”
- Andreas Antonopoulus, November 2014
If #nostr is vying to be a replacement for X as the world’s real time town hall, we need to work on discovery.
I wouldn’t know #Bitvm was a thing if I only used Nostr, and I follow the vast majority of those that are engaging over on the other platform.
Shout out to @NVK for hosting a masterclass on covenants in the latest Bitcoin Review Podcast.
Also really appreciated how he pushed back against the idea of appeasing Bitcoin Core contributors to the extent it jeopardizes the underlying value proposition of immutable money.
Couldn’t find it on #Fountain so sharing the Spotify link (from 2 hours 7 minutes in, as proof that I’m guy #2 that enjoys the conversations in their entirety, alongside mithrandir) 😂
Keep up the awesome work!

@TheGuySwann‘s latest episode on the Fall of Rome was as enlightening as it was concerning, given current events.
As good as the original article was, I found the take even more riveting.

It’s been several years since I built a desktop, but can’t you buy parts from Amazon and lean on their return policy if needed to avoid any of these back and forth headaches?
Sharing my first #Fountain clip from my with Coleman Escue, who went from Minister to Developer in one of the toughest job markets in recent history.
