I did not succeed in making an apk, but Stick succeeded.
Small update on Podcaster 2.0 Boost Dashboard (for core lightning).

- looks cooler, fits on the screen
- the episode list is narrower, so you can see your boost messages (see updated screenshot)
- episodes are sorted by when they received first boost, which is an approximation of how recent the episodes are (a newer episode will probably receive its first boost later).

Does this project have any users here (besides me) are all y'all folks running lnd or alby?

Find it here:

People who have fiat to use have a shitcoin problem.

How did that shitcoin get to their wallet and why isn't it btc already?
Tomorrow I have a fireside chat with @slush at @ChainCampCZ.

I have made my notes in a beautiful presentation format that I will see on my phone.

And you will never know how it looks.

Slides for myself! 🍄

Have you ever done something like that? :)
The talk was very good (it was a fireside chat), but it was not recorded.

I also did another workshop with slides just for me. I had some notes and wanted to turn them into slides with AI (so I can click through and have nice inspiring pictures for me, to keep me hyped - it was my third talk of the day). ChatGPT said it cannot create pptx, but Claude said that the best presentation format is actually HTML anyway and created a nice slide viewer for me, complete with shortcuts and buttons and printing without buttons, if I wanted a PDF.

ChatGPT generated images per slide and then I used this:

https://github.com/jooray/html-resource-embedder

to embed all the images into the HTML as inline base-64 encoded, downloaded to my Android and opened from a file on localhost on my Pixel 9 Fold, so I had very cool speaker notes :)

Hopefully it helped to promote OTC trading and helped people realize they can bring Bitcoin to their communities and help people onboard without the hassle of exchanges and source of funds forms.
Yes, it was hardcore, but I brought it on myself voluntarily. They had to postpone the event, some speakers couldn't do the new dates and I took the opportunity to shape the world a bit :).

First epic discussion with nostr:nprofile1qqsqg4694s8fpfpkzsdr4hwe246u96k50dsn73fgw2p7tqp07l7enlgpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcm62q3d on privacy that was very different than how these go, then I helped people decide on entrepreneurship and Bitcoin (even though people usually decide for one or the other) and then I helped create a few more OTC traders (veksláks). It was cool.
Pre Bitcoin Alza som spísal článok o peňaženkách Trezor. Absencia článku o prvej HW peňaženke nebola zámerom, iba to doteraz nikto nenapísal, tak som to napravil. Snáď sa dozviete, čo ste nevedeli, pretože Trezor toho vie oveľa viac ako si mnohí ľudia myslia.

This talk at HCPP was my favorite. It has since been taped and published as a @bitpunk.fm episode. Launch your v4v players (I was introducing, so I get some splits!) and have fun.

This year's HCPP (the last one in a sense) was pretty special for me. As probably the only conference fully dedicated to cryptoanarchy it was always my favorite.

This year it was mostly about personal connections for me. I feel that over past few years, people have been running around the world and trying things and they came to tell us about their experience and results. In the hallways, but also talks. First few years were visions, last few were experiences and lessons learnt.

But it also gave me something more. I used to get this at CCC. This knowledge of what is important, what is going on and what we are doing. I became disconnected with the main CCC ideology, which is also very political, not very cypherpunk. It turned from "we write code and hack" more "we have to speak up and lobby the european commission".

I've just realized that I got the same feeling from hcpp that I used to get from CCC.

I love CCC for other things.
OMG, it might have been nostalgic!

what is happening? :)
under HCPP brand yes, but I think there will be something similar next year

 TMTOWTDI
Welcome @lizznakamoto to Nostr. She is a shared identity that can be used by people who want to share cool Cypherpunk projects anonymously. Usually, this is quite a big problem, because if you want to share open source code and want to stay anonymous, you can't use your existing social network.

The password to posting is going to be shared widely among devs. If you are a free software and cypherpunk author (even if not anon), ask for password and spread it wisely.

We want the anonymity set to grow, plus it's not defined, it's just the knowledge of a password. So it can't be really pinpointed who knows it.

On the other hand, there is a password, otherwise the account would be just taken over by spammers, reducing usefulness.

Lizz is accessible through Nostr (give her a follow) and you can also access her website for people who are not Nostr enabled yet. Through the web you can also easily post, the Nostr private key is derived from the password in JavaScript.

https://lizznakamoto.npub.pro/
Then we'll figure it out, maybe block the account and do something else. Everyone's responsible.

I'm a member of such anon microblog (now nostr based, but not originally) since 2006 and it still works great.
No one follows a random npub.

Follow @lizznakamoto! The whole point is to post to an audience that is interested.
I could, but then I would have to review what to repost, there is someone making decisions and it's not anonymous, it's basically freshmeat.net but on Nostr.

This is something different. Feel free to use it or not.

Example entry

Btw Lizz was not created by me, I find it cool that someone else has found a use for it besides grumpy libertarian posts!

I am not very impressed by the expensive stuff. When a wine seller tells me they have a bottle of wine they are selling for $10k, all it tells me is that someone has written a price tag. I might sell my toenail for $10k, but that would not impress anyone, even if it's not possible to get it cheaper.

Luxury spending does not even work these days. You can rent things, you can borrow money to spend on something you can't afford, just to impressive.

What is impressive are great things for good price. Outstanding quality delivered despite limited resources. It's much harder to evaluate though.

When someone shows me expensive watches, I'm gonna ask if they can at least sign nostr events on it. Or if it just shows time like my phone.
People criticizing nostr apps for their quality are making multiple category errors:

One correction - most software is not actually done by large teams. It's often one to five guys in an office. The only difference is they don't have to answer customer support emails nor do sales.

I've been looking at a few projects that I liked and thought they're done by many coders. And then I met the (one) guy who has done the project :).
Let's talk about value4value. I listen to and get value from many podcasts. I'm ruthless and stop listening if they are boring. So when I listen, they are valuable to me. And it does not always mean mind-blowing tech stuff, it can be people who get high and play music.

We have this space age technology where we can stream money, directly to producers of content we value.

And then we send them two cents. I have produced more than a hundred episodes. Many of them have changed lives, literally. My total earn from all value4value was around 35$ - streamed sats and boosts. I don't have sponsors, even though I sometimes promote my own projects. Just the cost to produce one of these is 200$ or more (at least in my time, sometimes I rent a room / studio, although I'm pretty DIY). The cameras and microphones are not free either. Neither is server hosting (I self host, no cloud services, I run my own node).

I am not complaining though. I'm part of the problem. I did not change the default in the app - 10 sats per minute is ridiculous.

I changed my setting to 200 sats per minute to start with. 7 dollars per hour makes sense to me. It's cheaper than the tip I leave for a dinner. But if you have a few listeners that set it up, it might even pay for the production cost.

Your situation might be different. But let's use this space age technology for real, not as a proof of concept to send pennies.

Thanks to nostr:nprofile1qqsy6j4hxl30hdd0pl2epd9harr0uakn5q4f0y000ldv7cqlneg04kqpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsz8thwden5te0dehhxarj9e3hjurgv4e8qatwdvh8gmmyv9uj7qghwaehxw309ahx7um5wghxy6t5wp6ku6ewvekj7su0fdq for making me see this clearly.

Repost if you do the same. You don't have to do 200 sats/min. Do whatever feels right. It's probably not the default.

#v4v #value4value #podcasting2.0
What is sad? I don't see anything sad here.

Realizing I can do something better and doing that is not sad in my book
I'm well aware of the limitations.

But also there's a super simple way to change all of this. It is literally a setting in the menu. Just put a different number.

I'm not saying everyone should change. I was doing my podcast before there was value4value.
I don't perceive it like that. I was doing it before there was value4value.

There's value and reward in doing what you love. It enables you to have conversations with people. There is a lot of non monetary value.

I just changed that I want to make this a bit different for producers as a listener.

I would do my stuff even without any v4v tooling.

But we have this tech. Let's use it.
For me this is not a good way to look at it.

As a listener, if the podcast is valuable to me, I don't care if it has 10 listeners or 10000. Maybe what makes it valuable for me makes it useless for others. The idea for v4v is to reward the value, not to think about the cost.

It's the same with how I do pricing. I don't look at my costs. I look at the value I create. Cost of production as the basis of value is a marxist fallacy.

For example my podcast has probably less than 1000 listeners and I want to keep it that way. I can serve my listeners extremely well. There's no need to push it further. I just need to make sure they realize they're getting something more than if they played a mainstream podcast that is not perfect for them.

I think the only thing that should go to your calculation about sats per minute and especially boosts is what value you receive from the podcast. Their costs and other listeners don't matter.
I just made it work with one setting.
Did you contact support about it?
 Yes, works for me.
I don't want "financial support". I'm providing a valuable service.

It works for me. It would not work if v4v of my podcast was my income.

But there's no point in complaining. It's just an observation that changed my behavior as a consumer. I don't expect anyone else's behavior to change.

I had just not been using it right.
That is not a problem, but people rarely reward the value they get unless you ask them to.

So that part is important, even the good v4v talks I've seen were about how to ask.

If you don't ask, you will get very little if anything at all, even if the people perceive it as valuable.
if there was a championship of regulatory arbitrage, I think the winner would be less than 12 years old, probably around 6.
 I solar power my node.

What sideband plugin? That's actually great, I should point people to that instead of nutband, it makes much more sense.
yes. meshtastic is to try it out, reticulum is what we'll actually run after the apocalypse

https://juraj.bednar.io/blog/2017/01/18/bohati-ludia-neplatia-dane/

The fact is that it's the poor people and people who use fiat money who pay most of the taxes and rich people can very easily avoid it.

 From Raphael Douady:

Did you hear about the "tail concentration effect"?

When a #blackswan shows up, everything goes wrong and correlations spike to 100%. In other words, any risk factor becomes a risk source.

Correlations are not stable at all, particularly under extreme events. You need proper models to handle it, starting with #nonlinear.

Nonlinearity is more important than multi-factor.

Nah, post when you have something to say. This is not an engagement farm.
A friend of mine said something along the lines of "We have this cosmic technology of v4v splits, and we use it to send each other $0.01".

Yes, we can't change the paradigm from "zero cost, pay with your attention" to "value for value" by rewarding creators $0.01 per episode. All of us are more or less guilty of this.

The ransom model seems to work a bit better: "Full podcast available after paying $10". What I don't like about the ransom model is it is often on fiat platforms and it is often a monthly subscription. There is hardly ever any podcast that I want to pay for monthly. I would gladly pay for some single episodes.

New Free and Open Source microproject for podcasters: A podcasting 2.0 boosts dashboard, created from @Core_LN's listinvoices output.

I have a podcast, but I want to be sovereign and not host my boosts on a third party (such as Alby, although nothing against them, I just want to do it on my infrastructure).

It is a simple python script that takes the json output of the command line, filters out podcasting boosts and displays them. The output is a static HTML and JavaScript that you can open locally. No backend, pure simplicity. Enjoy!

Ak to zatiaľ nerobíte, vypočujte si aspoň úvod podcastu. Hovorím tiež o dôležitosti otvorených modelov, prečo by sme mali mať každý v "domácej serverovni" naše vlastné AI.

that's cool. but I think this is much simpler and does not need the users to even know what nostr is, or use their keys in any ways.

very interesting project though, feel free to promote it through lizz
I've tagged the wrong Lizz there

@lizznakamoto
Very good. I have a specific way to derive the key using PBKDF2, where you don't need anything to do with Nostr - no NIP07, nothing.

See deriveKeys here:
https://github.com/jooray/anonmicroblog/blob/main/webposter/src/index.js

This way it's Npub Pro as a front-end for reading, static HTML page for posting, no knowledge of Nostr whatsoever needed.

But I like the project, so that's not criticism, just explanation why I coded anonmicroblog like this.
