There's almost nothing you can do there yet, and you still need to have Trezor to do so, and it's only for Testnet as of now. 🫣
The most interesting feature so far is the ability to merge more of your pending transactions. You can save on fees by doing this, but they're beautifully low right now anyway. #needbettermarketing
Anyway. If someone would like to use it, there are plenty of improvement opportunities. From the visible modifications for example:
- Include foreign child transactions in merging
- Offer the ability to easily merge small utxos
- Add bulk transaction cancellation
- Add #bitcoin mainnet

I'm happy for any improvements to the #bitcoin wallets → But I'd be even happier with common useful applications that utilize the bitcoin.
Likewise, I appreciate every bitcoin conference → But I would be even more excited to attend, for example, a family festival where bitcoin is used for all payments.

Liquid
- 🟠 All fee goes to Liquid Functionaries (15)
- 🟠 Any combination of 5 functionaries can paralyze the Liquid
- 🔴 After two weeks (I think) can Blockstream steal all the Liquid funds
- 🔴 Liquid is vulnerable to governments
Ecash
- 🟢Fees are decentralized
- 🔴 Any mint can steal the funds
- 🟢But there can be huge competition - anyone can run a mint
- 🟢 Users can withdraw their funds anytime - immediately → unchain or on lightning
- 🟢 Ecash brings new value → can be shared with anyone - without previous action - for example via message
- 🟢 It enables simple interaction with Lightning Network
Simplified view could be that:
- Liquid is like new central banking
- Ecash is like new free banking
Both have advantages and disadvantages. And I’m a strong advocate of free banking in this dilemma. But real bitcoin is best of course.
I don’t see the direct link to my points.
1. Fees go to Functionaries, right? Or maybe to Federation members, but it doesn’t make huge difference..
2. I agree that Liquid federation might be the best federation in the space, but still. Any 5 of them can steal all the funds. If government will push, they can do whatever they want with Liquid - and all the locked bitcoin.
3. Ecash is not that mature and anyone can steal there.. But we can build tools to make it inefficient. And it can be way more resilient.
1. I would argue that Liquid fees are not decentralized.
2. Government attacks can be fast without supporting legislation. See samurai or tornado cash cases as an example.
3. True, but I still think that Liquid is more vulnerable. It’s only few entities. With e-cash it can be simply hundreds of thousands. That doesn’t apply to Liquid (it wouldn’t scale than…)

Na @ChainCampCZ je vypsaných spoustu nových workshopů. A mám docela problém. Jednak budou určitě často už obsazený a taky je občas poměrně těžký se rozhodnout, kterému dát přednost..
No a tak než pojedu do Ostravy, tak si jdu kroužkovat jako Jiřina Bohdalová před tím než jde do Penny.
1. Michal Novák - Taproot assets - Stable coins na LN - Stable coiny jsou podle mě distrakce, ale vím, že Michal je hooodně chytrý. Navíc tam můžou být zajímavé informace i o lightningu samotném
2. Tomáš Sušánka - Základy kryptografie pro bitcoin - To doporučuji už jenom proto, že Suši je můj šéf v Trezoru. 🙃 Pokud nevěříte, že to bude skvělý, tak se podívejte na jeho přednášku na podobné téma z letošního BTC Prague 🤯 Velmi jednoduché a užitečné pro chápání souvislostí.
3. iWarp - Cashu a ecash nad LN - Na tenhle workshop bych chtěl hodně jít. Ecash je kontroverzní. Mám k němu milion výhrad, ale zároveň v tom vidím obrovský potenciál. Hlavní problém pro mě je, že tou dobou povedu workshop o UTXO managementu, tak se můžete stavit i za mnou, pokud bude na ecashi plno…
4. Josef Kříž - Nostr - Nostr asi tady na nostru všichni znáte,.. ale Pepa by mohl dát praktický tipy, jak ho použít v dalších aplikacích..
5. Michael Haase - Úvod do světa multisig peněženek - Bohužel se to kryje s Pepou, tak nevím kam se budu nakonec snažit dostat víc. Michael to bude mít určitě velmi pečlivě zpracovaný a má veliký přehled.
Spoustu dalších workshopů bych taky velmi doporučil i navštívil.. Záleží, co vás zrovna zajímá - nejde sledovat úplně všechno.. Snažil jsem se jich vybrat jenom pár, aby byla šance, že si to vůbec přečtete..

Letošní @ChainCampCZ bude pro mě trochu o návratu ke kořenům. Potkáme se na Technické Univerzitě v Ostravě stejně jako naposledy před třemi lety. Právě tam jsem se Kristiánovi svěřoval, že už nechci jenom celý den v práci mluvit o#bitcoinu, ale aktivně na něm pracovat. A možná i částečně díky ChainCampu se mi to po pár měsících splnilo a nastoupil jsem do skvělé firmy Trezor.
Už před lety mě na ChainCampu fascinovala diskuze s neznámými lidmi - se společným zájmem. Většina obsahu bude letos představena na workshopech. Tam se můžete snadno zapojit nebo si klidně tiše sedět v koutě. Je to velmi inspirativní a dá se jít i víc do hloubky než na velikých konferencích.
Jediný problém je, že je to velmi náročný a dlouhý den. Doporučuji se dobře vyspat 😉
Potkáme se letos?
I spent the last two weeks at the camp with about ten other families. Nothing special, but it was nice to see how kids are more independent in such a group than at home.
