Screens are terrible and should be nowhere near a kid.
Our relationship with our 6yo improved 100x a few years ago when we went from "a little bit of screentime" to "absolutely no screentime ever"
Highly recommend.
I expect by the time she is in age to make such an ask understanding how bad screens are, particularly phones, will be so common that she'll be able to self-limit without looking like a total weirdo.
we'll see, one thing I've learned about parenting (and life) is that you mostly don't need to get ahead of yourself trying to fix problems that have not occurred and might never do.
our strategy was to go to complete zero. Even when we curtailed it to 10 or 15 minutes a day, she was still hooked and just waiting for those minutes to arrive.
After a few weeks of zero screentime, she began replacing the crave with imagination and her whole personality completely changed.
I do try to avoid being on screens when I'm with her and I explain that when I'm using the computer is because I'm working (which is true, I hardly ever use the computer if its not to write code)
I honestly thought so too, but after a while of going to absolutely zero screen time she went from requiring constant entertaining to being able to play by herself for hours.
I 100% understand your sentiment though, I used to think no screentime would be playing parenting in HARD mode on, but I'm now convinced SOME screentime is playing parenting in ULTRA HARD mode.
yeah, there was a bug a few months ago that caused this, no longer the case
fwiw, I think "recommended" is not the right verb for this -- I think we should change it to more like "default handler" or something like that
#YESTR
(and so will the lies)

that dude is so rad; I met him in Siurana once and he told me that he is afraid of heights, yet he climbs super strong despite feeling fear while he does
ah ok, it's just very different to how all other tags are used (no bech32 encoding) so supporting that would require changing libraries and querying for two types of indexed values (i.e. the way NIP-01 describes it and this new encoding)
it's not the a tag, it's the encoding of the tag that is very non-standard (i.e. doesn't follow NIP-01); I'm guessing some relays might bark at the non-standard format
this is the right answer, if, for example, you wanted to open the profile of the author of an event you don't know you can use the npub/profile URL, but 99% of the time you'll want to always use the nevent/naddr to open the actual event
I just tried sending 42k, didn’t work; 21k, didn’t work, 21 sats did work. Maybe you have too much balance in your wallet and is refusing large zaps? Otherwise just post a 42k invoice 😉
who wants Testflight (iOS only) access to a NIP-60 wallet app I'm building?
10 largest zaps get you access to the testflight and to a NIP-29 community (also available through the app)
🙏 Repost for visibility, I need to pay rent 😂
hahaha
the "contest" runs until, hmm, dunno, couple of days? yeah, let's call it 48 hours.
And no, definitely not doing any npub whitelisting! 😂 you can use any keypair you want 😀
a few days ago I retired a VPS that I thought didn't have anything too important; as such, a few of my sites went down, including zaplife.lol
I've migrated zaplife.lol somewhere else so it's now back online.
Looking forward to deploying some of these things on nsite so they can always be accessible just just through zaplife's npub regardless of whether my server is up or not 😉

also -- would be worth adding a NIP-31 `alt` tag to the NIP-60 wallet event ;)

Oh, a lot; I get per-limb lean body mass, so now I know my right arm has a little less muscle than my left arm, so now I can integrate that in my training.
For my the body fat percentage is the most relevant part because now I know that I have a lot of room to lose weight 😅
