Why come off Telegram? Because of the French arrest? Why Simplex? 

 How resilient is Nostr to this? If they REALLY want to shut it down...

We know darknet markets are secure, because they definitely want to take those down and have full legal justification for doing so, yet are unable to - how has Nostr proved itself in a similar way?

Forgive my ignorance, I'm new! 

 I saw Nostr on Reason Magazine a few weeks back, forgot what it was called, and tried to find it by searching for decentralized social media.

It didn't even come up. I spent ages looking.

Seems like Nostr has a big visibility problem. 

 I desperately need ingrown toenail surgery, but am scared beyond belief. Don't like needles, and certainly don't like the idea of having nails pulled.

Worse than the fear is the shame of being an abject coward. 

 I have quit caffeine for months at a time in the past, and have noticed very little difference. Once you get past the first few days it's all good.

Now, nicotine... Good fucking luck. 

 
I think mainstream social media can wreck your brain real bad. If I had kids I wouldn't give them anything but a dumbphone until they're 16. But I also think that this move by the Aust government has NOTHING to do with children.

It's all about universal KYC, social engineering, and locking up any opposition to the two parties which are practically identical.

It pains me to say, but our democracy is a complete fraud. If the world survives the next 10 years without nuclear war we'll get to see how bad despotism can really get. 

 Also, this legislation is why I'm here right now. I don't use social media at all, but I want to find alternatives for my fellow Australians who do. 

 This should be mandatory viewing for all Australians. Share wide and far to normies!
