I’ll admit, today has been the first time I’ve heard ‘Freizeichen’ (dial tone) being used instead of “Leerzeichen” (space), and I hope it was the last.
I wonder why to me the German "Milliarde" (or the French "millard") sound like more than the English "billion"*
* when I was a kid a billion had 12 zeroes, now it has only 9.
"My solution was simply to use mysql with the -B parameter, inline the SELECT statement with -e, then massage the ASCII output with sed, and wind up with CSV including a header field row. This doesn't seem to take into account STRING column types that have double quotes in them: Here is the updated regex to escape double quotes"
I love learning from the internets 🤐
If only more organizations published post-mortems of user-facing issues they experienced, like Cloudflare did for the ZONEMD #DNS problem which caused massive amounts of SERVFAIL on their resolvers yesterday.
Bravo and well done!

I won't mind if you laugh at me: I copied/pasted a generated password into a .my.cnf and couldn't for the life of me login.

with a bit of intelligence, no problem. They added that page I hear because there can be roles and collections with the same name.

@eedb8cb1 You'll find it hard to believe, but I actually took some time to mensplain bits and pieces of life to him because he showed interest and asked questions.
I'm on a weekend outing and have the time and the inclination to do so.
I’m sitting at the bar. Young 24-year-old behind it, and I told him that the three clocks on this wall (New York, Berlin, and Tokyo) are off because they are not showing the same minute. He asked how do I know?
Poor chap’ll have a sleepless night.
There were 9069 failed login attempts since the last successful login.

(FTR: these throwaway machines for trainings.)
@3909e1b3 I am going to be demoing Ansible AWX in a few off-line locations, which is what I’m going to use his little thing for at least a few months. It could also have been a laptop, but I explicitly wanted a very portable (!) “server” type thing.
Catching up: Toots I've seen so far about the EuroBSDCon chronologically:
- We're done, thanks for a great event!
