Shoutout & big thanks 🙏🏽 to all the Aussie nostr #austrich for welcoming me in to #nostr 🫂🇦🇺🍻 I think I’m gonna like it here 😎
Where is everyone at with the Misinformation laws being debated here in Oz?
Far as I can tell it can include bullshit like a social media post that a ‘reasonable’ person thinks will contribute to harm to Australian banks! Except govt approved media & politicians are exempt & can have their misinformation posts stay up.
Orwell would be looking at us going my shit wasn’t meant to be a blueprint guys

Why thank you fine sir 🫡, man that list of hashtags under your interests is my kinda language!! (*I don’t personally monero but I would defend to the death your right to monero)
Hey @bevo quick question I already got a lightning wallet in Damus but can’t zap notes directly from there cause iOS, on primal it asks for few details to create new ln wallet, do you happen to know if they verify those details in anyway? I just trying to make this nostr anon as can?
@stacksatsio fancy list you got there, nice work! Looks like I gotta suss out nsec or amber, only a few days old on nostr so learning as I go. Is that how most apps on nostr outside of clients work? You keep your nsec on a couple trusted clients like Damus or primal on iOS then log in to apps like listr via nsec or amber somehow?
Shit looks like I got a bit of a learning curve ahead of me, I haven’t even heard of Maeve yet…just got my little old nsec generated in Damus & put into primal also, trying to be careful not to spread it around too much.
I’m guessing nostore or nsec or amber are key management tools like the browser extensions Alby only better opsec since not in browser.
Feel free to ignore me I’m processing all this out in the open 🤣 🤣happy to get into some research about all this tomorrow
Damn I might have broken something. Where does apple stand on it, is it skirting the apple tax somehow? I’ll get into some ChatGPT google tomorrow sounds like a gota get caught up on a couple of things
On Damus, from the left side panel you get from tapping the profile icon, I get profile, wallet & settings as 3 different options. Under settings there’s zaps, keys…can choose wallet default selector etc etc but can’t see NWC anywhere.
I originally created ln wallet w/ LifPay & copied address into ln & nip05 in Damus.
Haven’t done anything on desktop w/ nostr, was going to run nostr just from ph. I running windows (I know I know, it’s for work) so no Alby or browser extension set up.
Thanks for all your help 🙏🏽 I’m going to do bit of looking into it all tomorrow and get sorted out w/ key management
Sounds like a good approach…so besides Damus you’re just putting nsec into nostore & that authorises any nostr apps that support whatever NIP nostore is using?
Yeah when I go to wallet it shows wallet relay for LifPay and description says LifPay wallet relay for nostr wallet connect so looks like I got NWC set up
I wonder, how many people say something like ‘the price means nothing to me’ yet still check the price a few times a day when it’s pumping?
Doesn’t matter anyways, I’m numb to the price
Can you point me to somewhere I can read up on Web of Trust for nostr? I have vague recollections on WoT in relation to PgP or announcing keys at in person events etc.
Nostr newbie here, trying to learn about the relationship between relays & content discover ability

First I watched ‘Zeitgeist’ & it opened my eyes.
Then I read ‘Creature from Jekyll Island’ & realised we work more than half our life for ‘them’
Then I read ‘The History of Central Banking & the Enslavement of Mankind’ by South African central bank employee Stephen Mitford Goodson & realised small groups of Jewish bankers have controlled the world for thousands of years & the Nazis were humanities best hope at altering the trajectory of the world away from thousands more years of endless wars & the ‘enslavement of mankind’

CBDC’s effectively already here w/ Trump supported USD backed stable coins w/ programability.
Govt already tell stablecoin issuers which coins to freeze etc.
Fed member banks acquire or partner closer w/ a tether or a circle, increased programmability rolls out, there’s your full fledged CBDC.
IMEI’s could end up being part of a Digital ID system. Australian govt has already passed Digital ID law but it’s not very fleshed out or mandatory at this early stage
Yep pretty much how I see it. Most ppl might not initially agree with this statement but splitting a 24 word seed into 2 halves (splitting into 3 or splitting a 12 word seed is obviously dumb) is a great option for long term cold storage
Brute forcing 12 or 11 words w/ checksum is equally as pointless as trying to brute force 24 words.
Eliminating single point of failure & capture requires 4 geographical locations.
Wallet restore is simple, potential for error is reduced & less education required for inheritance planning.
Could apply same logic to 12 word seed encrypted w/ passphrase….
Hww set up w/ encrypted seed in location 1, passphrase at location 2, 1-12 words in location 3 with passphrase again location 4
Heard of it but haven’t looked into it yet, will suss it out.
As far as geographically distributed while eliminating single point of failure & capture, for me 4 locations is a good number.
When going above that, say creating additional redundancies, it seems to me the chances of something going wrong increase…
ppl / places you trust that much, will they remain there long or be moving soon, can you access without too much trouble or is encrypted/ coded comms required to discuss something, when a bull market pushes price up so much do you feel the need to ask them to check if it’s still there & or let them know the spot at their place you’ve hidden it, has the place / person attack vector for theft increased to a point of actually being less secure etc etc
For me 4 spots w/ the smallest possible circle of ppl who know those spots is the sweet spot.
And single sig being much easier & less error prone compared to multi sig when considering inheritance planning & who might be restoring 24 words into a hww is the real game changer for multi vs single.
The one thing multi sig offers over single sig, as far as additional practical security, is it allows you to spread out your trust in the hww manufacturers security trade-offs chips etc, eg cold card & a Jade in the set up.
Wondering if SEEDXOR adds any additional practical security to that single sig set up?
Yeah ok I got ya. I find the functionality of say the cold card q practically the same level of security for entropy, for me anyways. Dice rolling your own hex then relying on the device to convert that & add on its own additional layer of entropy on top to get to the 24 words.
I can see the attraction though for additional methods / devices / security trade offs in generating separate seeds.
Good entropy should be a given in any set up. I guess in comparing the single sig vs multi sig set up I should have stipulated the entropy better
I just started on nostr, trying to learn about content discovery / seeing notes & being seen & how it relates to relays. Do you know if the nostr profile makes a difference somehow?? Or is it relay selection… 🤨
Yeah I’m not a typical apple fan, now even more so. I’ve been remotely viewing 😂😂 nostr via the podcasts & YouTube, don’t know why took me so long to get here, appreciate the help 🙏🏽.
I really think nostr benefits from these authoritarian laws getting passed in some of the west on free speech
First nostr note, wow I feel pressure & freedom combined. The weight of the times strikes me, the anniversary of Satoshi releasing the white paper just few days ago did pass, Guy Fawkes night even more recently, and now I find myself in the throws of celebrating a Trump victory overseas while remaining sober about the actual implications that has for Bitcoin.
Kinda all seems meaningless if you contrast that with sitting in a jail cell
