All of a sudden my posts on Mastodon are getting liked and forwarded a lot more than on the other platforms. At a loss to understand what changed? Hmm.
@0668609e — he happens to be right, no one clicks links, longform posts work. That’s why I was begging Twitter to to get rid of the character limit for years.
Okay the problem with trump being speaker is they probably won’t have the votes, given that Repubs won quite a few seats in democratic districts, and those people probably want to try to be re-elected. So wtf go ahead and try, another loss for trump. He will say it was rigged and we can have a good laugh. 😀
Obviously they’re all going to go to trump to get his blessing and in the end he will decide to appoint himself speaker and the press will melt down in orgasmic ecstasy.
A little advice about social media from someone who has been on social media since it has existed. You don’t have to argue. When someone wants to argue with you, you should block them. There is no good outcome possible from arguing on social media.

you know if you were attacking any other gender, age or race you would be begging not to be cancelled. i think more than admitting that i have a point you should apologize. at a minimum.

that was a sarcastic link. i thought the hashtag was pretty clear. apparently some people are too whatever to give someone the benefit of the doubt before getting personal which sucks.
NEXT TIME WE HAVE A DAY OF RAGE ON THE INTERNET, INSTEAD OF CHANGING OUR ICONS, OR PUTTING NEAT SLOGANS ON OUR HOME PAGES, INSTEAD LET'S EVERYONE EXPRESS OUR FEELINGS BY TYPING IN UPPERCASE. THAT'LL GET THEIR ATTENTION, WHOEVER THEY ARE.
IT'LL BE AWESOME.
It seems like HTTP requests these days, generally, don't come with a referer header? It's a shame in a way because if something you wrote is getting a lot of hits you can't tell where they're coming from.
They don't try to report news on NPR. Bending over backwards to treat Republican mockery of legislative processes as legit. I'm sure when they talk about the events they cover privately they tell each other the truth. But not to their listeners. Why bother.
Google is worse than a monopolist. They deliberately destroy technology because it’s too empowering for users. Not talking about dominating, destroying.

Matt, my friend -- it's not petty, it's the open web winning. In podcasting we won, by setting the pattern early-on. People expect choice in how they listen, and reject gate-keepers. It's a genetic seed, and once it takes hold it's impossible to overcome. This is what podcasting is teaching us.
