Gripping & telling, yes, but no surprise. There have been plenty of hints that most of the repubs were playing roles. Graham. Cruz, others who condemned trump & the prospect of his becoming POTUS as appalling did not change their opinions. He proved them correct & they knew it. I told a group of recent refugee teens who were worried at his election that I was sure America would dump him fast. We had a process to correct it. I gave it 6 months. Boy was I wrong! Repbs=weasels

He is like tfg. An evil narcissist who wormed his way in to a long-established role that, despite myriad examples of waste, fraud, & abuse, was generally working on behalf of most of the people. Both are examples of letting the fox into the henhouse. Most POTUSes & Companies with huge lucrative contracts like Lockheed, Grumman, Rockwell, Raytheon, etc. work under reasonable guidelines set by USG. These 2 & others work for themselves & foreign $. We slept; in they crept.

That is the question of the decade. For all the criticism JRB gets for not doing enough or for the drilling lease etc., he is walking a tightrope better than anyone else I can imagine.
The way to defang the traitors is  cut off their funding from the bigger traitors who own them. The wealth tax could help with that, but passing it requires winning more seats which their money makes a major challenge.
