Few businesses seem to think about doing things themselves and considering it cost of operation by employing people to do it.

Then even after the initial capital outlay they still dont have the personnel so keep going back to the consultants at exorbitant prices time after time. 
 @d72d5211 Its almost like they don't realise that outsourcing your design, build and operation doesn't mean you don't have an IT function in your organisation, it just means you're paying somebody else to do it. And you might be paying way more than it could cost you, with far less oversight.

 @120acc36 Heh, one of our 2 dogs knows how to roll the windows down in the car so we have to set the lock to stop him doing it on a cold / wet day.

 @120acc36 Yup, I know some folks dislike the un-upgradeability of AIO style, but the full integration of everything is definitely a plus when space is at a premium.
