This year's election cycle has, for me, been very similar to COVID. Similar in that COVID was a wide open window revealing that which was previously hidden.
At the time I thought the appearance of that metaphorical window and the “look behind the curtain” that it provided was a side effect of dying and weakening power structures attempting to desperately uphold the status quo of the illusion that has existed to this point. Threatened from a population that is beginning to awaken and see through the illusion.
However, the more I consider this the more I think I was mistaken.
That window was not accidentally revealed. These power structures are not threatened by an awakening population.
We are moving into an era where the illusion that the government is “democratic” or that it upholds or honors the Constitution in any way is no longer necessary.
What we are seeing is the true nature of what the American Government has grown into stepping out of the shadows and into the light. Not because it is loosing power. It is stepping out because it has become so powerful that it no longer requires the protection of the illusion or the safety of being hidden.
I used to feel a sense of pride that I “saw through” the illusion. That I refused the COVID vaccine, that I didnt trust the government, blah, blah.
It has become clear to me that the government simply informs the higher wealth class of desired and appropriate thought and behavior. The rest trickles down from there.
I used to feel a sense of hope. Hope that people truly are waking up and the tide is beginning to turn. Now I feel the exact opposite. There is no prize or award for the realization that we live in a manufactured reality, that we live in a system of debt-slavery.
China does not pretend that they have free speech or that their leaders are elected. That charade is nearly over in America as well.
The individuals that accept the trickle down behavior issued from governmental forces, individuals that have not yet reached the required maturity to accept self sovereignty, are the majority.
How long will we continue to argue and fight over who we give our power away too?
At what point do we accept responsibility for ourselves? When are we mature enough to handle that responsibility?
6.6bn in revenue to act as the middle man between creators and their audience.
I have no idea how nostr will become profitable for devs and creators but what I do know is that only fans, with 6.6bn/yr in revenue, represents only a fraction of the wealth that is available.
Pretty sure that happened in Argentina...
Or I think they just inflated the currency to the point of failure several times, so they had to make a new currency...
The behavior of Trump and the republican party almost make me think they are not "playing to win".
This is not two sides in a struggle for victory. It's a single coordinated effort with designated roles for each side.
First time I've ever seen this
nostr:nprofile1qqsgt0d4sa0pz0wvn9yck36xxezf3qhwzksu0q254vruqed5wvuavuspzfmhxue69uhhqatjwpkx2urpvuhx2ucpzfmhxue69uhky6t5wd6xzcmt9eshquqpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumtfde5kymmvwshxjmnxdu4ryj8q https://image.nostr.build/aebe7f5b531ef31af65cb61e54f60b1cc39886807abab03e8a1f7ad204763fc4.jpg nostr:nprofile1qqsywt6ypu57lxtwj2scdwxnyrl3sry9typcstje65x7rw9a2e5nq8sprpmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctvqydhwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnzd96xxmmfdecxzunt9e3k7mgpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mq9hxafw
Agreed. How anyone can fully support either party is a bit beyond my understanding.
On a side note I've almost developed an odd respect for the democratic party. They are playing with their cards face up. Censorship, Totalitarianism... It's all on full display. There is no longer an effort to hide it.
People wake up. Realize the harm these platforms cause. Think for themselves, become self sovereign. Own the responsibility of navigating the digital world with privacy and appropriately educate themselves.
Full separation of money and state. Value is exchanged P2P with no intermediary. Ideas are exchanged without censorship or perverted advertising incentives.
Onward🫡
Was thinking about this the other day...
It is so generally unpleasant to go about routine, day to day, life and activities at this point in the election cycle. Everyone is angry. Everyone is looking to defend and perpetuate their ideas and beliefs.
Litterally like an abused animal backed into a corner, snarling and ready to attack.
Compare that to two years from now when we are at the midpoint of the incumbent.
Amazing what happens when the propaganda machine winds up.
This is something I've been thinking about a lot. All traditional business offer a good or service in response to a market demand. This naturally creates a need to advertise the available good or service which is accompanied with on boarding assistance and ongoing support for whatever they are offering.
We are not at a point in society where self/digital Sovereignty are cool or attractive to most. And, because nostr is not a business there is no firm or customer facing entity to explain the benefits, use cases, and advantages of such. Also there is a definite learning curve to the use of bitcoin/nostr and that burden falls upon the individual.
It does seem like there is space to offer some of these things as a service. To be a "user facing" representative of the protocol
I really like watermelon but ever since those new dietary guidelines came out the only thing I can think about every time I eat watermelon is "Why do the people who are trying to kill me want me to eat watermelon so bad?"
Maybe it's just that Bill Gates uses a lot of his farm land to grow watermelon?
Maybe it's something worse?
Maybe it's nothing at all...
It seemed a bit careless and reckless, announcing bitcoin reserve.
You would basically be signaling to tbe entire geopolitical landscape that you are abandoning your own currency, which by the way, acts as the global reserve, in favor of bitcoin.
Would this not trigger a global economic "arms race" for bitcoin?
Seems like the bloodiest, scariest possible road to hyperbitcoinization.
Amazing to consider how immature we are as a species to rely on permissioned third party providers to facilitate the exchange of value.
The potential that Bitcoin and nostr unlock within the human race as we realize the ability to create and exchange value between one another is something I hope I am around to see.
What a bright orange, and purple, future it is.
