Being locked down for almost three years affected me. It affected my sister more. My sister's 83 y/o friend was hit hard but the lock down. She is a rule follower she she stayed inside. I kept telling her to go outside and walk a bit and then use the stairs for exercise. Keep the legs strong. She didn't do this.

@92575985 I know, it's wild. I met Suzanna at Costco when she lifted a 50-lb bag of dog food. That was a treat. I joked about needing her at home. She said, ok. I told her I was just joking. She said she wasn't. I said fantastic! Jeanette was another one, I watched her when she started as a food sample person. Watched her work in the different departments. She went off to college and then got married. Katie almost knocked over one of our wine bottles....
@2a48eef0 Just a side note. I learned to make friends with the checkers by turning the UPC code so they could see it, and then scan it. They don't have to fumble each item to find it. It worked best at Costco. Made some lasting friendships over it.
It broke the ice so to speak.
Interesting traffic was heard today.. A canopy was requested for Sunset and Gower. Then an inmate needs to be transferred to airport court. Airport Court?
@d7af9dea You and JCD both got your General license. You tried for the Extra class but did not pass, right? Have you thought about studying for the Extra Class? I know you are busy. I think it might be good to go all the way to Technician Class. It seems to open a lot of doors. At least talking about it opens doors. Just a thought.
@Julius D Haversack I spent 17 years as a scanner enthusiast. Some of the info I already know. It should be easy to pass. I'd really like to be a technician by the end of 2024. This would be cool!
@Julius D Haversack You made me very curious last night. When the Mt Wilson Repeater went quiet for an hour I tried keying up. for just one second. I was able to connect to it and heard it disconnect.
I'm 19 miles from another repeater and can activate that too.
Doesn't mean they can hear what I say, but I think that is something good to note.
Well, it's that time again. I have to find something quick to eat and the go to bed. I have to wake up a little earlier " in the morning." 🙂
I go through this every night. I've been trying to figure out what to do for dinner for the last 4 hours. I have no imagination.
@Julius D Haversack Ah, yes. I bought the radio for an emergency. I have not tried to connect to any repeater since I am not licensed. You are correct.
Sorry I left that info out of my post. I am creating lists grouping frequencies together for fast loading. I am enjoying the radio so far. I really want sda100 scanner. @155b2d62@30b2770b
@155b2d62 I went with the Radioddy GT- 5R. I'm looking at their email ad and see they have the colored radios again. That's when I saw the tri-band. Might be good for emergencies.
