its like a self perpetuating cycle of doom. i see u though. see me?
 no. our shared nemesis.
constant soapbox self aggrandizement. very little discussing the topic at hand. argues by bringing up pontification on irrelevant topics because logic and reason applied to the task at hand fails emotional people with no basis of facts or foundation in common sense. beware these narcissists. they are dangerous as a crumbling 5th column asking everyone to stand under them. nostr:note1nf33hmyn2klrf6dlrwrw948vujp2s2xns6z66rzpqyk38thqglnq5znuan
hit dogs do indeed holler. 4chaners bring their ideology to any virgin environment. kinda like how they teach hate to their young.
the protocol is going to die a cancerous death if stormfront hi-iq’rs are the only ones allowed to contribute.

fight with me.
Yes. Any app that doesn't allow you to change from their default servers is bad.
nostr:nevent1qqs...
and yet cases are being made for relay pinning as we speak.
Made my first proposed “contribution” to the protocol. Please be kind. Its just an idea born of a query post. Just tryna see where I fit in the larger community.

https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/pull/1268
 all nostr clients use algorithms

most just choose the algorithm of sorting messages in timestamp...
could this be solved by an rss-ish subcription model that sorts/filters based on your input. all while making sure you are using unfettered relays. im new here and spouting idealism. let me know where i went silly.
well, as im as new as this protocol, im looking at the possibilities. i think that a relay that is completely open allows for a client that can at least sort/filter by nip/kind (and if i have my way, geohash). i think that key here is that a client with a simple enough interface could sort by more than the conventions offered within the protocol, but by content, author, and other metadata. i dont see why this couldnt/wouldnt be implemented in damus or primal, but again im new here and still havent fully assessed the landscape.
“…but I was gonna head to Toshi station to pick up some power converters!”
:)

seriously, you know anyone specific to damus or primal i can hit? otherwise im just gonna hit their support channels.
whats the typical challenge convention out here for apps/services looking for an authenticated response? just post an encrypted invite and the “right user” responds?

what about the quantum scare?

implementation questions posed as philosophical queries.
I’ve been in the nostrverse less than a week. Looked at this dudes SDK. Played with it. Its going to speed up app development on nostr for sure!!! Im using it to build an app for censorship-free ratings of businesses and services (the anti-yelp). The SDK is also helping me familiarize with the overall protocol design and I hope to be making my own contributions soon.

Shout out to you YUKI!!! Super class act. Super useful libraries! nostr:note1lhjpn883qpmm420s352x7gx457s7vf5kwj0e7ttfgk0pxnqysr3says6gj
Morning, Hodlbod. I posted a PR this morning and someone suggested I “merge” ideas with your idea. Was wondering if you wouldnt mind taking a look at my PR making a comment about the sophistication of your unions, intersections, and diffs relative to my submission. Should these ideas merge into one “feed” kind? I do see some overlap as far as the end result.
 Looking for inspiration and opportunities.

#introductions
I came back to this today, a couple days later. Did some exploring, learning offline. Your messages have absolutely inspired. This damus client is dope. You guys are better. Thanks! Im looking to add some geolocated commerce conventions to the protocol. Ill be browsing around asking for help here and there. Thanks again for your welcoming responses.
Hey Yuki, is it me or has the python distro tested ok on alpine?
I have but not sure if the issue is me. I cant install from pip. says no distro is available but i will try manual package installs.
Was tryna create a container using your python modules. when I couldnt get the install to run on python, I switched to js on a node container. alpine prefers “apk add” over using pip anyway.
I had to install cargo as well but it looks like Im 99% the way there. I will be adding these steps to my container build!!! Thanks so much for your help.
