@97954ff7 KJV guys slander Codex Sinaiticus and Vaticanus as being "catholic" manuscripts, and therefore corrupt. They were written well before the Rome of today with all its trappings ever existed. It's a poor attempt at the genetic fallacy.
@97954ff7 There's a difference between dismissing an argument and refuting it. KJV Onlyism has no legs to stand on if you take a minute to think about what they're saying.
@97954ff7 Best book in the OT that the Jews read today? I couldn't give you one, I haven't spoken with a Jew since I was in high school since one of my friends was a Jew.
@97954ff7 "It's not something to be dismissed regardless of the actual truth, if he's trying to tell the truth."
He thought he had been enlightened to the evils of the "catholic" manuscripts used on the NASB. That's all a lie, but he just didn't know better.
@97954ff7 So you'll listen to one guy who had something to do with the NASB but you won't listen to another guy why had something to do with the NASB? I don't believe White was consulted on the LSB but I could be wrong. Get past the personalities and examine the arguments. The book does that. It's not a character assassination of Jack Chick and other KJV onlyists, it's a refutation of their arguments.
@97954ff7 The dude was captured by KJV only garbage. That has exactly zero implications for the reliability of the NASB. Again, every argument in that video was shredded by James White in the King James Only Controversy book. Best read it sooner rather than later, I know it will clear things up for you.
@97954ff7 Better translations like the LSB would help you here:
Oh, love Yahweh, all you His holy ones!
Yahweh guards the faithful
But repays fully the one who acts in lofty pride.
@34b3698a Religion is inescapable. We are religious creatures made to worship. The question is: what is the object of your worship? For many, the state becomes their god.
New article in the local paper by my pastor: Libertarianism taught in the Scriptures.
"Is libertarian political philosophy compatible with Christian faith?
There are evangelical leaders who would say it is not. These tend to be cheerleaders for one party in our current system. I’m jaded enough to believe the real danger they see is that a Libertarian Party candidate might siphon votes from their favorite lesser-of-two-evils."

Christians aren’t exiles living in an alien culture waiting for exfiltration. We’re solders in the King’s army on his territory peacefully repelling foreign invaders.--P. Andrew Sandlin #faith #bible #christian
To remember injuries, to retain a sense of wrongs, to watch for opportunities of revenge, to hate and be maliciously perverse, is to represent the image of the 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭 unto the world in its proper colors.

@freeborn | ἐλεύθερος@b2e3a57d Why do you get the idea that theonomists want a church wielding the sword? Ever one I've seen has an understanding of sphere sovereignty as explained by Kuyper. I'd be interested in who you've heard the opposite from.
I hold to the 1689. "The church and the civil powers are distinct governments with different powers, means, methods, and ends". Can you find me a theonomist/reconstructionist that denies this?
@freeborn | ἐλεύθερος@b2e3a57d I'm not on board with you with natural law/R2K. There is no kingdom in which God's revealed will isn't the ethical standard.
As far as theocracy, it's not a question of if you're in one. It's a question of which god is worshipped in the nation.
@b2e3a57d No, he's saying that since the Puritans the church has abandoned God's law, and we are not better off for it. It's about the contrast between theonomy and autonomy. The church largely wants to function autonomously, without paying attention to what God said in the OT because that's all been done away with apparently.
Many evangelicals shudder at the idea of the laws of a nation reflecting God's law.
“Since the 17th century Puritans, God’s people have hated His law. In response, He has steadily removed them from power and influence for the last three centuries.”

"The church cannot be said to have completed its career till the whole world shall appear transfigured with its divine spirit, and states, and sciences, and arts, with all their glory, shall fall down before the altar of the Most High in full, free worship.” – Philip Schaff #faith #bible #christian
New article by my pastor: Suffering no argument against God.
"The brilliant man in the video was asked whether he believed in God. He said the amount of suffering he sees in the world makes it hard for him to believe in a God who is good and loving.
This is a common argument among skeptics. Suffering is bad, so God must not be good. He’s either too weak to do anything about it or unconcerned with it."

@eebad0f3 "But I say to you, My friends, do not fear those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!" - Jesus in Luke 12:4-5
