Curious: is there a DAW out there that shows tremolo, pitch bends, etc. as part of the notes on the piano roll? Like, actually showing the note squiggling or bending?

@9ddd61cd Yeah, well I need to watch these lines away, because they unnecessarily hamper me. I’m always trying to do things *my* way, the hard way, instead of compromising when that’s the better and more realistic option. 😅
A really weird thing that stops me from playing more with #Godot is the naming of Scenes. I know, I know, it’s such a stupid thing, but my brain absolutely resists calling it a “scene” when it is absolutely *not* one. It’s a “NodeTree”, or a “Construct”, something like that.

I get hung up on the naming of things *all the time*. I have such a strong idea of how stuff is Supposed To Be, and instinctively rebel if something doesn’t match it. It’s why I have such trouble using engines. #gamedev
@f884fa2b That’s because the end of that moniker has always been cut off: it has always actually been “the party of law and order for everyone except us”.

@ae1c89a6 Nope! We have two providers to choose from: the bad one, and the worse one! (For wired internet, anyway.)

As for the rest: sure, cap UL/DL bandwidth, but keep it symmetric. Monthly data caps are a bit harder to justify IMO. Dynamic IPs may be a legacy of IPv4, but I’m still a bit sore about the botched IPv6 adoption. Most of all, ISP TOS banning people from running their own servers is some serious bullshit.

Anyways, I do plan on checking out Peertube!

Anyone can host a #PeerTube...
@ae1c89a6 Oh certainly, and I’m glad to see the rise of more federated services! I’m referring more to what the internet was originally envisioned as, versus what it became. I mean, I can host anything by renting a virtual (or physical) server — but my point is we all should be able to host from our own computers, out of our own homes, but dynamic IPs, artificial ISP limits, and terms of service forbid it, and that’s bullshit.
Reminder: if ISPs didn’t artificially restrict our upstream bandwidth and cap our monthly traffic amounts, we could all host our own videos and stream to moderately-sized audiences, without the need for services like #YouTube and #Twitch injecting ads into every goddamned thing.

These things are done for a reason, and it isn’t a technical one. It is to exercise control over what and how you are allowed to share.

@ce17ff08 @fc3ee9ea @0c1a9324 He truly is just astonishingly stupid — but he’s *confidently* stupid, which is why he built up such a cult of personality.

@f884fa2b Wait, Nate “There’s no way Trump can possibly win this election” Silver is peddling more bullshit?

I’m shocked. SHOCKED, I say.

(Shocked that he hasn’t been drummed out of statistician circles everywhere, that is)
