@874e0e3e It's actually very easy to understand: The fossil fuel corporations make large "donations" to the political parties (most if not all of the various parties, you can see them on the parties official donation ledgers, this is happening globally), therefore those political parties feel obligated to act in the corporations best interests.. Only by passing a law banning political donations will this ever change, then the politicians will stop protecting the fossil fuel industry and start doing the right thing for once as they will no longer be obligated to act on their behalf.
@4d95224a Short term: Nice house, nice car, good school for the politicians kids..
Long term: The complete annihilation of the human race and the environment which supported it.
@4d95224a The environment doesn't have the time for people to "trial and error new voting candidates" with four years here, four years there, only to find that they ALL take the same donations (bribes) from the very same fossil fuel companies..
@4d95224a Labor, Liberal, Independants, etc. You will find fossil fuel linked individuals on ALL of their donation ledgers. Until corporations are disallowed from making political donations the corruption and the catering to the corporates needs wont change.

@4d95224a Problem is ALL politicians are on the corporate payroll, every single one of them, as you can see from the official ledgers their parties release of donations, hence why these same politicians feel "Obligated" to doing things in the very best interests of what those same "Donors" want. Until that changes not much progress will be made. It's the 1% that are causing the vast majority of the damage, not the 99%, so harking on at the 99% over and over and over solves absolutely nothing, and no amount of protests or awareness of climate change is going to change that, the root CAUSE of the problem needs to be addressed and stopped, which is Corruption.

@9be68efe Lol, I started my graphic design journey with the free software that came with this mouse, back in high school late 1980s early 90s, Dr Genius Paint (also called Dr Halo).
@4d95224a Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that Politicians and Governments are on the payroll of the corporations mining the fossil fuels, once those "Donations" (Bribes from Corps to Polli's) are abolished and made illegal things will start to change for the better.
New art print up in the gallery, from a shot of a 'Pride of Madeira' flower I took in Veale Gardens #Adelaide this morning :)

Some interesting statistics I found today about why it's so difficult to get Liker & Follower interaction on your Facebook Business and Hobby Pages (and why Mastodon is so much better without that algorithm). This is how Facebook's algorithm works (or rather doesn't if you're a Page owner) -
- 1 like = 1 point
- 1 comment = 6 points
- 1 share = 13 points
- 1 negative interaction (hide this post, unlike this page, etc.) = -100 points
