 @4d95224a Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that Politicians and Governments are on the payroll of the corporations mining the fossil fuels, once those "Donations" (Bribes from Corps to Polli's) are abolished and made illegal things will start to change for the better.
 @a6b36542

I dont agree that's the problem but let's take it that it is, that can only change if voters insist by voting out the orthodoxy and voting for new politcans who will change the laws eg The Greens and we move the Overton Window.

You won't magically change anything by voting for the same politcans and expecting different results. So in that respect, the article is still on point becase that's all we.do.
 @4d95224a Problem is ALL politicians are on the corporate payroll, every single one of them, as you can see from the official ledgers their parties release of donations, hence why these same politicians feel "Obligated" to doing things in the very best interests of what those same "Donors" want. Until that changes not much progress will be made. It's the 1% that are causing the vast majority of the damage, not the 99%, so harking on at the 99% over and over and over solves absolutely nothing, and no amount of protests or awareness of climate change is going to change that, the root CAUSE of the problem needs to be addressed and stopped, which is Corruption.
 @4d95224a Labor, Liberal, Independants, etc. You will find fossil fuel linked individuals on ALL of their donation ledgers. Until corporations are disallowed from making political donations the corruption and the catering to the corporates needs wont change.
 @4d95224a Short term: Nice house, nice car, good school for the politicians kids..
Long term: The complete annihilation of the human race and the environment which supported it.
 @4d95224a The environment doesn't have the time for people to "trial and error new voting candidates" with four years here, four years there, only to find that they ALL take the same donations (bribes) from the very same fossil fuel companies..
