In Hebrew, the word for morning is "בוקר" (boker). A common phrase to greet someone in the morning is "בוקר טוב" (boker tov), which means "good morning."
Tuesday in Hebrew is "יום שלישי" (Yom Shlishi). The Hebrew days of the week are named after their order in the week, with Yom Shlishi meaning "the third day."
Here's a fun fact: In the creation story in the Torah, each day ends with the phrase "ויהי ערב ויהי בוקר" (vayehi erev vayehi boker), which translates to "and there was evening and there was morning." This phrase emphasizes the cycle of time and the beginning of a new day.
As you learn Hebrew, try incorporating these words and phrases into your daily routine:
- Start your day with "בוקר טוב" (boker tov) to greet others.
- Acknowledge the days of the week by saying "יום שלישי" (Yom Shlishi) on Tuesdays.
This will help reinforce your learning and make Hebrew a natural part of your everyday life!

I know all too well how intimidating it is to dive into a topic or project that seems completely out of your depth.
Trust me, as a one-woman show and entrepreneur, I face these fears and the challenge of learning new skills from scratch every single day.
The real breakthrough comes when you find someone who excels not only in their expertise but also in their ability to teach it.
They simplify everything, highlight what's crucial (and what’s not), and deliver the practical steps so all you have to do is follow their lead.
I’ve been fortunate to learn from some incredible teachers who have turned areas I once dreaded into subjects I now handle with clarity and confidence.
And I've also encountered others who couldn't bridge that gap for me.
That’s why I firmly believe that the right method and teacher are the real game changers—they make all the difference, provided you’re ready to show up and do the work.
Everything I create, from my books and online programs to my free daily bite-sized posts, free guides, and weekly emails, is crafted from the perspective of how I’d want to be taught each Hebrew topic.
I truly believe this approach is a huge part of my success, which reflects directly from my students' success.
If you're eager to learn from a teacher who operates with this mindset, leave a comment, and I'll send you a message on how to get started based on what you want and need.

If speaking Hebrew like a local is important to you, the way to get there goes through pronouncing words correctly, as we Israelis do today.
That used to be one of the most challenging parts of learning Hebrew, but that's not the case anymore.
I have developed a Phonetic System for Pronunciation (PSP) that translates Hebrew words into English letters, allowing you to easily and quickly pronounce any word like a native speaker.
I use it in my conversational course, Practically Speaking Hebrew, and in my best-selling Hebrew 1 2 3 books teaching you how to read and write.
Once you start using the PSP, your entire learning experience will become so much easier, simpler, and your Hebrew will become local.
If you're not in my course, and want to use the PSP, head on over to my YouTube channel, Hebrew by Inbal, and check out the PSP playlist.
Watch the 3 tutorials you will find in the playlist. They'll guide you step-by-step through my phonetic system, ensuring you can tackle any Hebrew word with ease.
Remember, learning to pronounce Hebrew correctly opens up a whole new world of connection and communication.
Whether you're planning a trip to Israel or engaging with Israeli friends and colleagues, speaking with confidence and accuracy makes all the difference.
Embrace the journey of learning Hebrew and let my Phonetic System be your guide.
Take the quiz now and see how well you’ve mastered "Masada". And if you stumble, no worries - just revisit the video I posted this week, and keep practicing.
You’re on the path to speaking Hebrew like a local!

The Hebrew month of Tammuz, which began yesterday, is a significant period in the Jewish calendar, rich with historical and spiritual meaning.
Tammuz often carries connotations of reflection, introspection, and preparation for the deeper spiritual journeys ahead in the later months.
One of the most notable events associated with Tammuz is the fast of the 17th of Tammuz, which commemorates the breaching of the walls of Jerusalem before the destruction of the Second Temple.
This fast marks the beginning of a three-week mourning period leading up to Tisha B'Av, a day that recalls various tragedies in Jewish history, including the destruction of both the First and Second Temples.
Tammuz invites us to reflect on themes of loss and resilience.
It’s a time to consider the fragility of what we hold dear and the importance of spiritual fortification.
This period encourages a deeper connection to faith and a recognition of the cyclical nature of history and personal growth.
In the Northern Hemisphere, Tammuz usually falls during the height of summer.
The intense heat of the season can be seen as a metaphor for the inner work we are encouraged to undertake—facing the "heat" of our own challenges and using this time to refine and strengthen our spiritual and personal foundations.
During Tammuz, many observant Jews begin to adopt certain mourning practices leading up to Tisha B'Av. These can include refraining from celebrations, limiting joyous activities, and engaging in additional study and prayer, particularly focused on the themes of the period.
May this Tammuz bring everyone back home safely to their loved ones 💙🤍

Learning to speak Hebrew can feel like you're swimming against the current. But it shouldn't feel that way.
You might find yourself scrambling to figure out what to learn next, spending hours piecing together free resources, only to end up confused and frustrated.
Without a proven path, it’s easy to feel lost and overwhelmed, questioning your ability to ever truly grasp the language.
It's not an indication of your potential, but of the path you are taking.
One of the biggest mistakes is thinking you can save money by doing it all on your own.
But the reality is, you end up wasting far more of your precious time, energy, and even money on ineffective methods and irrelevant content.
The absence of a supportive teacher to answer your questions and provide feedback can leave you in a constant state of uncertainty about your progress.
Investing in Hebrew that doesn’t apply to your daily life or interests means you’re not getting the practical use out of your efforts.
This leads to memorizing phrases you'll never actually need, preventing your confidence from growing.
And when you don't pivot from paths that make you feel overwhelmed, you end up doubting your ability to ever get the language.
Imagine instead having a proven path laid out for you, where each step builds upon the last, creating a solid foundation in Hebrew.
Picture having access to structured content that is directly relevant to your needs, and knowing exactly what to focus on next.
With this clarity, learning becomes not just easier and faster, but so rewarding!
Think about how different it would feel to have consistent feedback on your progress, knowing that every effort you make is taking you closer to fluency.
The confidence that comes from this assurance is invaluable.
You’re not just learning Hebrew; you’re experiencing it, integrating it into your life seamlessly.
By avoiding these common mistakes, you can transform your learning experience, save valuable resources, and thrive in Hebrew.
You deserve to feel confident, supported, and successful in your Hebrew learning journey.
Choose a proven path and watch your abilities soar.

In the rugged desert of Israel, amidst the timeless beauty of the Dead Sea, lies Masada—an ancient fortress that embodies the spirit of resilience and determination.
Perched majestically on a towering plateau, Masada whispers tales of courage and defiance against all odds.
Here, against the backdrop of history etched in stone, we learn that strength is not just physical, but also the unwavering resolve of the human spirit.
Masada stands as a testament to the enduring will of a people who chose freedom over surrender, even in the face of adversity.
The story of Masada resonates through the ages, reminding us that in our darkest moments, we have the power to rise above, to stand firm in our beliefs, and to preserve our dignity against all challenges.
It teaches us that even in isolation, unity can be found; in struggle, resilience is forged; and in history, lessons that echo through time.
As we gaze upon the ancient ruins of Masada, let us draw strength from its enduring legacy.
Let us remember that like those who once stood here, we too can overcome our obstacles, scale the heights of our ambitions, and fortify our spirits with the indomitable courage that Masada symbolizes.

As Shabbat approaches, I find myself reflecting on the beauty of winding down, a concept so deeply ingrained in this day of rest.
For me, winding down doesn't mean doing nothing; rather, it's about slowing down enough to hear my own thoughts.
It's in these quieter moments that I truly understand what I need at this moment.
Looking at this image, you might see a perfect day for an energizing ride, an invitation to stroll slowly through nature, or a view you would want to see outside your window as you sit back with a book on a cozy sofa.
Each of these activities offers a unique way to listen to the whispers of our hearts, telling us exactly what we need this weekend.
The contrast between the rush of daily thoughts and the clarity that comes from being still, even for a short while, is stark.
It's in the stillness that we find clarity, understanding, and often, the answers we've been seeking.
This Shabbat, I encourage you to give yourself the gift of tuning in to what you truly need.
May your Shabbat be filled with clarity and the gentle understanding that comes from truly listening to yourself.

Isn’t it amazing how every language has its own quirky expressions? 🤯 Learning Hebrew, for example, has been full of these delightful surprises.
Every new word is a little adventure, and sometimes you just have to laugh and say, “That’s crazy!” as you dive deeper into the beauty of a new language. 💬✨
Join me at Hebrew by Inbal and let’s explore these fascinating phrases together! 🌍❤️
#HebrewByInbal #LanguageLearning #ThatsCrazy #HebrewFun #Hebrew https://video.nostr.build/14f94ed4c3a52e3cf1805e2f074b9bacdc591236f2864df670ba5a0a3c26f8fa.mp4
The authenticity of mercifulness is ultimately revealed not through isolated acts that might serve an immediate purpose, but through consistent, genuine, and compassionate behavior towards all individuals, especially those who are most vulnerable.
Mercifulness, in its truest sense, is a profound and genuine expression of compassion and leniency towards others, especially those who are vulnerable or at a disadvantage. This quality involves empathy, understanding, and a sincere willingness to alleviate suffering without ulterior motives.
When groups or individuals, such as H-a-m-a-s, engage in acts that are fundamentally at odds with the principles of mercy and compassion—such as taking people from their homes, subjecting them to unimaginable experiences, or mistreating vulnerable individuals, especially women, children, and the elderly—any subsequent actions that appear merciful should be taken as manipulation. These actions are strategic or propagandistic, aimed at creating a certain image rather than stemming from genuine compassion.
The use of mercy as a facade in such contexts is particularly troubling. Forcing people to wave as they are released as we see is a shameless tactic to obscure their atrocities or to gain political or social leverage.
The forced viewing of the Oct 7 violence by children, physically hurting them as they cry in response, separating mothers from their children and lying about their fate, the mistreatment of sick elderly, and the overall inhumane conditions reported by those returned - are stark contradictions to the concept of mercifulness.
Such actions reflect a deep disregard for basic human dignity and rights.
In light of these considerations, it becomes crucial to distinguish between true mercifulness, which is selfless and empathetic, and actions that are driven by manipulation, coercion, or a desire to deceive.
If you know the word רחמים /ra-kha-'meem/ or שער הרחמים The Gate of Mercy in Jerusalem, these words are all connected in meaning.

Kindness is like the gentle touch of sunlight on your face or a warm embrace when you most need it.
It's not just an action but a state of being, a way of interacting with the world.
Kindheartedness goes beyond mere niceties; it reflects the depth of one's empathy and compassion.
It's like having an internal compass that always points toward love and understanding.
When you are faced with it, you can feel it instantly. It's radiating a type of warmth that makes you feel at ease. You are listened to without judgment, offered help without expecting anything in return. You feel seen and heard.
Kindneds has this unique ability to turn ordinary moments into meaningful experiences.
Being kindhearted also means being kind to yourself.
It's easy to extend compassion to others, but sometimes we're our own harshest critics.
True kindheartedness starts within, fostering self-love and self-care.
When you treat yourself with the same compassion you offer others, you not only nourish your own soul, but you also create a well of empathy and understanding to draw from when helping others.
In a world that often feels chaotic and indifferent, kindness serves as a beacon of hope.
It has a ripple effect, impacting not just the recipient but also the giver and everyone who witnesses it.
So let's celebrate kindheartedness, not just as a trait but as a way of life.
It's more than just being nice; it's about fostering a world where empathy and compassion are the norm, not the exception.
And remember, each act of kindness, no matter how small, helps create a better world for all of us.

When I head home and see this news item pop up on my feed. I laughed so hard!
Now, fast forward to today, where reality is so twisted that watermelons are somehow an anti-Israeli symbol (what??), and Zionism represents evil and colonialism...
When this post I shared in 2018 resurfaced as a memory, I couldn’t help but think – even back then, it's either you laugh or you cry - when the story is that far from the truth!
In the picture is Israeli singer Netta Barzilai - who won the Eurovision - walking with the prince in Rotchild Blvd. in Tel Aviv.

As the week winds down and we prepare to welcome the peaceful embrace of Shabbat, my thoughts often turn to the simple pleasures that enrich our lives.
One of these, which holds a special place in my heart, is the unique charm of a good coffee shop.
There's something about the ambiance of a cozy café, with the soothing hum of quiet conversations and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, that feels like a small sanctuary in our busy lives.
Imagine sitting by the window of your favorite coffee shop, a cup of perfectly brewed coffee in hand. The warmth from the cup spreads to your fingers, a gentle reminder of life's simple comforts.
Each sip brings a moment of peace, an opportunity to pause and savor the here and now. In these moments, surrounded by the soft clatter of cups and the murmur of fellow coffee lovers, there's a sense of community and a shared appreciation for life's small joys.
As we step into Shabbat, let's carry with us this sense of warmth and connection.
Let's remember that, just like a visit to our beloved coffee shop, Shabbat is a time to slow down, to reflect, and to cherish the quiet moments that give depth to our lives.

🌊 Visited the aquarium recently and was mesmerized by all the beautiful fish! 🐠🌟 Each tank felt like exploring a different world, just like learning a new language. Every fish, with its unique colors and patterns, reminded me of how diverse and vibrant languages can be.
Just as fish swim gracefully through the water, we can dive into the ocean of languages and discover something new and beautiful every day. 🌏💬 Keep swimming and learning! 🐟📚✨

In 2024, antisemitism has evolved into a campaign of spreading lies and distorting narratives, no matter how absurd these fabrications may become.
I have seen videos where people claim they visited Israel and witnessed a fantastical reality where no one pays for anything! from housing to daily necessities. Beyond the fact that no such thing exists anywhere, Israel is one of the most expensive places on the globe.
Moreover, there's an entire industry known as "Pallywood", where staged scenes of misery and despair are manufactured to paint Israel as a malevolent force. This industry thrives on creating and disseminating deceptive images and videos to manipulate public opinion.
A significant part of this modern antisemitism is the vilification of Zionism.
Lies are spread about Zionism to make it appear as an evil ideology.
However, Zionism is simply the right of the Jewish people to live in their own land.
That is it.
It is profoundly telling that we even need a term like "Zionism" to describe such a basic right.
The absurdity becomes even more apparent when considering that the United Nations established Israel as the homeland for the Jewish people, in coexistence with Arabs and other residents of the region, in 1948.
The necessity for a specific term to defend the Jewish people's right to their own homeland underscores the unique and persistent challenges we face.
The spread of antisemitism through lies and false narratives not only distorts the truth but also undermines the legitimate and historical connection of the Jewish people to the land previously called Palestine and before that Judea and Samaria.
All these acts of blunt hate towards Jewish people in the past year stress is the need for us to have our own country and army...
Because clearly, no country seems too eager to protect us.

These men are absolutley Awesome!
As catchy and fun as this song is I cannot stress this enough:
Just because someone speaks Hebrew doesn't mean they can teach it well.
Think about it—knowing how to read and write in a specific language doesn't mean that you would be a great writer... or translator... or teacher.
As someone who is all three, I’ve seen firsthand what makes a person good in each line of work.
When it comes to teaching a language, being a native speaker who lives and breathes the local language is a first must.
So being a native speaker is a great start, but it's not everything.
There are countless types of teachers and teaching methods.
What’s the track record of yours like? Do they have a method, and if so, what’s the magic behind it? How exactly are they going to help you excel, not just get by, in Hebrew?
When you choose a Hebrew teacher, look for someone who is a native speakers, and has a track record of leading people just like you to success.
Remember, the path to thriving in Hebrew lies in A. Your guide. B. The method . C. Your investment.

Israel's Red Canyon, a hidden gem nestled in the arid expanses of the Negev Desert, is a stunning natural wonder.
With its narrow passages and towering red sandstone walls, it offers an adventure that feels like stepping onto another planet.
Interestingly, the same word /kan-'yon/ is used both for a canyon and for a shopping mall.
Both words are officially pronounced /kan-'yon/, but in everyday speech across Israel, both are commonly pronounced as /ken-'yon/ or /'ken-yon/.
The Red Canyon, known for its striking geological formations, has been sculpted by water and wind over millions of years, resulting in a mesmerizing maze of curves and crevices that glow brilliantly under the desert sun.

Ready to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the extraordinary?
Let's talk about faith—not just any faith, but faith in your own incredible abilities.
Here's the truth:
The world is full of uncertainties, and yes, change can be downright scary. But what's scarier?
Letting fear pin you down to a life of stagnation.
Think about it—staying in your safe zone, not diving into learning Hebrew because it feels daunting, might seem easier today. But deep down, you know it's not what you want.
If it were, you wouldn't be here, poised and ready to grow, to expand your horizons.
So here’s what I want you to consider: every moment you choose not to move forward because you're afraid, you're choosing stagnation over growth, sameness over the vibrant life you dream of.
Is that a trade-off you’re willing to make? I have no doubt it’s not.
Taking the plunge, especially into something as challenging as learning a new language like Hebrew, can feel overwhelming.
But imagine the conversations you'll have, the books you'll read, the doors that will open when you do.
Each word you learn is a seed planted for a future where you're not just functioning but flourishing.
You deserve a life filled with rich experiences and growth.
You deserve to explore every bit of potential you have.
So let's do this together.
Let’s turn your potential into reality.
Don’t just dream about speaking, understanding, reading, and writing Hebrew—make it happen!
Push past the fear, because on the other side of that fear is the life you deserve and desire.
Take that step.
Believe in yourself.
The journey may be uncomfortable at times, but the rewards? Absolutely worth it.
Let’s make your dream of thriving in Hebrew a vibrant, living reality.
You’ve got this, and I’m here to help guide you every step of the way.
Let’s start this adventure together. 🌟

🌟 Dining out is like learning a new language! 🌟
When you go out to eat, it's a lot like picking up a new language—there's always something new to discover. 🍽️ Just like how "milk" can mean different things to those with lactose intolerance, or how "gluten" is a no-go for some, language has its quirks!
From choosing vegetarian or vegan options 🌱, to deciding between fish, seafood, pork, beef, or chicken 🍗—each meal is a lesson in diversity. Embrace the variety, just like how you’d learn new vocabulary!
Next time you’re out, think of it as a mini language lesson. You’re not just filling your belly; you’re expanding your horizons. Bon appétit and happy learning! 🌎📚✨

The Israeli flag, with its blue and white colors and the Star of David at its center, is more than just a symbol of a nation. It represents the resilience, history, and spirit of a people who have overcome immense challenges to build a thriving, vibrant country.
Each time the flag waves in the wind, it tells a story of perseverance and hope.
The blue stripes recall the ancient Jewish prayer shawl, the talit, symbolizing the connection to a rich cultural and religious heritage.
The Star of David stands proudly as a testament to the unity and identity of the Jewish people, a symbol that has endured through centuries.
For many, the Israeli flag is a beacon of freedom and a reminder of the importance of standing strong in the face of adversity. It embodies the dreams and aspirations of those who have fought as still fight for the right to exist, to flourish, and to contribute to the world in countless ways.
When you see the Israeli flag, remember the stories of courage and determination that it represents. Let it inspire you to pursue your own dreams with the same unwavering resolve. Just as the people of Israel have turned and still turn challenges into opportunities, so too can each of us find strength in our struggles and emerge stronger, united, and proud of who we are.
The Israeli flag is not just a national emblem; it is a symbol of enduring hope, of a past remembered, and a future envisioned. It calls upon us to honor our heritage, celebrate our victories, and continue to strive for a better tomorrow.

Israelis generally have a decent grasp of English. Many signs are in English, Hebrew, and Arabic, and you can usually get by in Israel with English alone. But let me tell you, knowing a good amount of basic Hebrew can transform your trip to Israel in ways you might not expect.
Recently, I spoke with a woman from my Hebrew learning community. She shared a story from her first trip to Israel. On her first day in Jerusalem, her phone was stolen right out of her hands. While she was very impressed with how the police handled the situation—driving her around to try and recover her phone and ultimately retrieving it—the language barrier made an already stressful situation much more challenging. Despite their attentiveness, the inability to speak Hebrew created a major communication gap. She realized then that learning Hebrew before her next visit was a must and decided to explore my course.
But it’s not just about emergencies.
Buses, for instance, display information only in Hebrew.
Knowing numbers and basic phrases can transform your shopping experience, making it so much easier and more enjoyable.
Plus, understanding Hebrew allows you to immerse yourself fully in the culture—whether it's catching the gist of a conversation before it switches to English or enjoying Hebrew music, art, shows, and more.
Now, I'm not talking about fluency. Just being able to hold a basic conversation and understanding the structure of the language can make a huge difference!
You’ll pick up more than you expect, even if you still consider yourself a beginner. It all depends on how good that basic Hebrew that you learned is. How relevant and practical it is, and how much did it teach you about how Hebrew works so you can connect the dots when you're there.
That’s why I designed my program to help you achieve practical Hebrew skills in just a few weeks, at your own pace. Whether you want to walk or run, the path for success is laid out for you.
Start your journey today and transform your next visit to Israel. Don't wait until you're there to realize how much more enriching your experience could be with the right amount of the right Hebrew learning.

So buckle up, embrace the adventure, and remember, the journey is just as exciting as the destination!

Four places I absolutely love in Tel Aviv!
Hamigdalor was my #1 gift-getting place, and is now the store my best friends send me gifts from.

One key element to thrive in Hebrew is to learn it while stressing the right syllable.
Stressing the right syllable is essential for conveying the correct meaning of words, and speaking like a local, which means laser-focused pronunciation. When you get this right, you’ll be amazed at how much more natural, clear, and confident you sound.
But here’s the good news: a great phonetic system allows you to do just that, easier and faster that you think is possible. That is why I've developed one that not only helps you master syllable stressing but also simplifies the entire learning process.
Not only that, but my phonetic system allows you to become fluent in Hebrew without the hassle of learning the alphabet or getting bogged down in reading and writing - if that sounds like a dream to you. If you're not interested in reading and writing, you get to focus on speaking and understanding Hebrew without dealing with the letters or writing at all.
I use the phonetic system I developed in my Practically Speaking Hebrew course teaching you how to speak and understand Hebrew like a local.
It’s also a key part of my Hebrew 1-2-3 best-selling series of workbooks and textbook, completing all your reading and writing skills.
You’ll find my phonetic system across all my free lessons, guides, YouTube videos, and programs.
If you're not in my course yet, and want to master the system, simply go to my YouTube channel > Playlists > PSP, and watch the three videos guiding you through all you need to know to utilize my PSP - Phonetic System for Pronunciation - and level up your Hebrew learning.

Before Oct 7, I had the luxury of posting content that focused solely on learning Hebrew and celebrating Israeli and Jewish cultures.
But after Oct 7, everything changed.
Too often, I feel like I've been thrust into one of the countless movies I've watched about pogroms or the 20th-century Holocaust in Europe, those moments right before when you scream inside: "The writing is on the wall! Get out! Save yourselves..."
I have too many moments when I feel like I'm witnessing the 2024 version of that.
I teach the Hebrew language, the language of the people of Israel, the Jewish people.
What kind of educator would I be if I didn't do everything in my power to help my people when it feels like we are waking up to 1939 N@zi Germany every single morning, on all fronts?
I invest a lot of time and effort in balancing my content, making sure it is not political, and trying to show what is really happening without overwhelming you.
Do I lose followers? Of course, I do.
Do I have to deal with daily trolls and haters? Definitely.
Would I prefer for you, my followers, to enjoy 100% fun content about the Hebrew language only? Absolutely.
But that's the thing about being Jewish and Israeli.
It comes with a weight that those college students wearing keffiyehs as accessories and playing activists have no idea about.
It comes with an obligation, a duty, a responsibility that doesn’t wait for you to finish whatever it is you’re focusing on right now.
Thank you for being here, for your understanding and support during these challenging times.
Let's continue to learn and grow together, standing strong in the face of adversity, and wishing for a tomorrow where I don't need to post any content beyond Hebrew learning.

No matter how many lies people make up about Israel and Jewish people,
It does not change the truth.
Israel is a truly liberal, accepting, democratic country where people of all beliefs, religion, sexual orientation, gender, color, race, origin -
Have equal rights, coexist, and nowadays - try to survive the domestic and global daily attacks.

Today, as we celebrate Father's Day, I want to share a beautiful aspect of the Hebrew language that millions of kids experience when they say one of their first words: /'a-ba/ אַבָּא.
In Hebrew, 'a-ba אַבָּא is the word for both father and dad or daddy. It's a term filled with warmth, love, and everyday connection. Hearing a child say /'a-ba/ אַבָּא for the first time is a moment of joy shared by millions of families.
But you might wonder, why do we also use the word /av/ אָב for father? /av/ אָב is the more formal and/or biblical form of the word father. It's a term that you will often find in religious texts, formal writings, and special occasions like wishing "Happy Father's Day".
So, while /av/ אָב carries a sense of formality and tradition, /'a-ba/ אַבָּא is the everyday term that children call out to their fathers with joy and affection.
As we honor fathers today, let's celebrate both the traditional /av/ אָב and the loving, everyday /'a-ba/ אַבָּא that brings smiles to countless faces.
Wishing all the wonderful fathers out there a very Happy Father's Day!

The reason I'm teaching you this local phrase today is deeply meaningful.
When Yamam, Shabak, and IDF forces rescued Noa Argamani from the inhumane hands of her captors in G@za, they reassured her that it was okay and that they were there to bring her home. After enduring eight months in hell, she was in disbelief. Then, one of the rescuers asked her, "Is it okay if I give you a piggyback ride?" as they had to move as quickly as safely as possible.
In Hebrew, the literal translation is "bag of flour," because it's the same way we carry that on our backs.
Now that the video of her rescue has been released, and I am sharing it right here with you, I wanted to teach you this local expression (it is not in the video as it is edited, but if you are following the Israeli news you will see it everywhere).
It’s a beautiful reminder of how in a situation where there is no time for anything, our men have the gentle heart and courtesy of asking: "Is it okay if I give you a piggyback ride?" as we get you out of here.

You can hear the moment of emotion in the voice of the first rescuer telling her: It's ok, Noa, we are here to get you home. Chills.
Risking your life to save someone else is a virtue no antisemite or anti Israel "protestor" can even comprehend.
You have so much to learn about real values. Not made up ones. Real life. Real danger. Real war. Not playing in made up ones.
I could not be prouder to be part of the Israeli and Jewish community and all we not only stand for but deliver in practice.

If you are struggling, I am with you.
If you feel like evil is winning way more than it should, I am with you.
If you feel like you're abandoned by those you were certain would have your back, I am with you.
If these eight plus months are just too much, I am with you.
I am feeling it all too, and it is scary and overwhelmingly bad.
But you are not alone. And we will stand strong facing any evil that comes our way. Together.
I am wishing you a safe, recharging, loving Shabat that gives you exactly what you need most right now.
💙🤍

Mount Tavor is a strikingly beautiful and historically significant mountain located in the Lower Galilee region of Israel.
Rising to a height of 575 meters (1,886 feet), its distinctive, rounded shape makes it a prominent landmark visible from miles away.
Mount Tavor has been a site of immense historical and religious importance for thousands of years:
Mount Tavor is mentioned in the Bible in the Book as the site where Deborah, a prophetess and judge, and Barak led the people of Israel to a decisive victory over the Canaanite army led by Sisera. This battle is a symbol of faith and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
In Christian tradition, Mount Tavor is traditionally identified as the site of the Transfiguration of Jesus, where Jesus is believed to have been transfigured before Peter, James, and John.
Beyond its historical and religious significance, Mount Tavor is also a place of breathtaking natural beauty, offering stunning views and a variety of outdoor activities.
The slopes of Mount Tavor are covered with lush Mediterranean vegetation, including oak and pistachio trees. In spring, the mountain is adorned with colorful wildflowers, making it a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
Mount Tavor is a unique blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty. Whether you're a history buff, a nature enthusiast, or a spiritual seeker, a visit to this iconic mountain promises a rich and fulfilling experience.
As you stand atop Mount Tavor, taking in the breathtaking views and reflecting on its profound significance, you'll feel a deep connection to the ancient stories and timeless beauty that make this place truly special.

The letter Alef is not just the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet; it is a symbol of beginnings and holds a special place in various aspects of Hebrew life and learning.
Unlike the English alphabet, where letters like A, B, and C are just symbols with associated sounds, Hebrew letters have names and meanings. The Hebrew equivalent of the letter A is Alef א pronounced 'a-lef.
In the Hebrew calendar, the first day of every month is /'a-lef/ followed by the Hebrew "in [the Hebrew month name].
The first grade in Israeli schools is called /kee-'tah 'a-lef/ כִּתָּה א, marking the beginning of a child's formal education.
So while we always call this letter Alef, we can write it אָלֶף ir in short א with or without a ' sign to its left.
Alef functions as both a vowel and a consonant (following my method for learning Hebrew). This flexibility makes it an essential part of Hebrew pronunciation and grammar.
Calligraphy, pronounced /ka-lee-g-'ra-f-yah/ קָלִיגְרַפְיָה in Hebrew, is the art of beautiful writing. Hebrew calligraphy has a rich history, with roots in religious and cultural traditions. Scribes have been meticulously writing Torah scrolls, mezuzahs, and other sacred texts for centuries.
Shavuot is a time of renewal and recommitment, echoing the essence of Alef. It's a reminder that every new learning journey, such as learning Hebrew, is a step toward greater understanding and connection. Learning Hebrew opens doors to deeper cultural and spiritual insights.
Just as the Jewish people stood at Sinai ready to embrace their future, every learner of Hebrew stands at the brink of a transformative journey. The letter Alef represents the first step, a small yet significant mark that leads to a profound understanding of language and heritage.
As you begin or continue your Hebrew learning journey, think of Alef not just as a letter, but as a symbol of your commitment to growth and discovery. Each word you learn, each letter you write, brings you closer to a richer, more connected experience of the culture and tradition this language expresses.

Supporting Israel and the Jewish community isn't a political statement; it's a stand for justice, for peace, for life, coexistence, and equality. It’s about being on the right side of history.
Israel and the Jewish community are facing the worst adversaries employing the lowest tactics of humanity—from lies to manipulation—to challenge our very existence.
Real friends are torchbearers of truth and support.
They will choose peace over hate, life over death, right over wrong. 🕊️💙

If you’ve ever wandered through the ancient alleys of Jaffa, you’ll understand why it's more than just a city—it’s a tapestry woven from centuries of history, culture, and incredible stories.
Nestled against the Mediterranean, Jaffa's vibrant blend of past and present creates a unique charm that's hard to find anywhere else.
Strolling down the cobbled streets, you can feel the pulse of diverse civilizations that have called this port city home. From the historic stone buildings bathed in golden sunlight to the modern art galleries and bustling flea market, every corner of Jaffa tells a story of coexistence.
What I truly love about Jaffa is its remarkable blend of cultures. It's a place where mosques, churches, and synagogues stand not just as monuments, but as active hubs of worship, side by side. You can hear prayers in Hebrew, Arabic, and other languages mingling in the air, each adding a layer to the city’s rich cultural mosaic.
The local cuisine further mirrors this diversity. A typical day might start with a hearty Israeli breakfast followed by an aromatic Arabic coffee, and later, a feast of freshly caught fish seasoned with local spices at a seafront restaurant. Every meal is a celebration of the region's varied heritage.
But Jaffa isn’t just about looking back; it’s vibrant with the energy of the now. Walking through Jaffa, you see how contemporary art installations stand against ancient backdrops, offering new perspectives and continuing the dialogue between old and new.
Jaffa offers a beautiful lesson in coexistence. It shows us that despite differences, life here thrives on sharing—spaces, stories, and a horizon that merges seamlessly with the sea. It’s a living example that diversity not only exists but flourishes with respect and unity.
Jaffa always gives me a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for what it teaches us about living together.

Drop the word SPEAK to see how.
You’re eager to speak and understand Hebrew. You download Duolingo (or any other app) and start with enthusiasm, playing with words, advancing through levels.
The app encourages you daily with tough love, making you think, "Wow, they're really invested in my success!"
Yet, weeks turn into months, and you find yourself stuck in the same spot, not truly advancing in conversational Hebrew or understanding how the language works.
Does this sound familiar?
If the answer is a sad "Yes," it's not your fault!
The truth is, these apps are designed to keep you engaged with the platform rather than ensuring your actual success in learning. They excel at bringing you back for more, but what exactly is this "more"?
Do you even know who built the Hebrew program you’re following?
Can you ask a real Hebrew teacher a question?
Does anyone care if you progress in Hebrew or not?
As a native Hebrew speaker, best-selling author, and dedicated educator, I've spent months designing unique teaching methods that address the pitfalls of popular apps and programs.
Your success is my top priority, which is why my approach is tailored to ensure real, fast-track results.
You won't just memorize isolated words unrelated to the Hebrew you want to express, nor will you chase empty gamified achievements.
Instead, you'll engage with practical, real-life Hebrew, immerse yourself in Israeli Hebrew, and develop deep understanding of the language.
I’ve taken all the feedback from learners who've shared what doesn’t work with apps, Ulpan, and most programs out there, and I've developed methods that actually lead to success.
I've already helped thousands of students speak and understand Hebrew quicker and easier than they thought possible.
If you're serious about speaking Hebrew and tired of feeling stuck, it's time to adopt a proven formula, learn from a teacher who truly cares and will always be there for you.
Let's get you speaking Hebrew, without the false starts and frustrations.
Drop the word SPEAK, and we'll get you started.

As we welcome another Shabbat, a sacred time of rest and reflection, I'm reaching out with a warm embrace, especially to those among us facing particularly challenging times.
Whether it's the unsettling news coming from Israel and around the world, or the sting of hate and antisemitism, know that you are not alone.
In these moments, Shabbat offers us a sanctuary, a pause from the turmoil where we can find solace and strength. It's a time to gather with loved ones, slow down, and let this time remind us of the enduring strength within each of us—a light that hate cannot dim.
Let's use this Shabbat to reflect on resilience, our shared values that teach us to withstand adversity with courage and grace. Let it be a time to nurture peace in our hearts and homes, as we hold onto hope for a world that mirrors the Shabbat peace we cherish so deeply.
Together, let's renew our spirits, fortified by our community's bond, and our shared human history. May this Shabbat bring healing, comfort, and a renewed sense of purpose to all who need it.
