Every corporation, government, nonprofit family, individual, church, you name it, trying to front run the U.S. government buying of Bitcoin
Easiest bet in human history. https://i.nostr.build/ha8FMTeL6sKy1SNt.gif
How can Americans vote for both AOC and Trump on the same ticket?
One thing was made even more crystal clear in this election - majority of Americans consider themselves anti-establishment and like to see that reflected on the campaign trail and in the candidates they’re voting for.
This means they are also ripe for Bitcoin as truly anti-established technology and money separate from the state.
This is going to be a big and exciting 4 years and beyond if we can harness all of this—politically and economically. https://i.nostr.build/La9SCfMWDrXMOSIA.jpghttps://i.nostr.build/H4cNAsVM3WgqbKcu.jpg
Idk who needs to hear this.
But if you’re thinking about shitcoining because the SEC will be less strict on enforcements of unregistered securities, etc
Don’t.
Heyo you just described this guy 😂
Have already used bitcoin-backed lending services v productively the past 3 years.
99% of my peers have not. Soon, it’ll be the major option
Both was important to me. Not never ending therapy, but targeted, natural, being sure not to self-pity spiral. Especially if you have childhood trauma, important to understand your demons.
I’ve been thinking more about this
I remember when Trump picked Vance to be his VP. Liberals and liberal media scoffed at this, saying he was a goober, only leans more into MAGA and wouldn’t help Trump diversify his voter base to get to 270.
What they all missed, and even myself to some degree, was Trump’s team already knew their message and tactic — America first, fighting against political* and globalist* elites, and speaking to an angry, mobilized working and middle class.
Their genius quite honestly is that they weren’t trying to get every American to vote for them. They knew a lot of the country hates them. They were shooting for 60%.
Democrats water down the message soooo much tryin to put out generic bullshit to reach every single American. Instead, a campaign that shoots for energizing a strong and might base and pursuing hard 60% of the vote, while the other 40% may hate them, is a winning strategy.
Bernie has been largely calling progressives to get back to this strategy - let’s get 60% fucking amped and fired up, and 40% (elites, haters, whoever) may hate us but you know what, that 60% is gonna show up ready to go and win.
It’s A strategy, and could be the wrong one. But for Trump, it was a winning strategy, even in the face of the most hostile media and global establishment pushback ever.
Dang I’m receiving zaps just fine but sending has been down. I’m using @Alby hub, which I love. Don’t worry I’ll fix it at some point today/tomorrow and keep track of which notes I wanna come back and zap! 😉
Time is running out. What’s your niche going to be in Bitcoin’s quest for global adoption and making the world a better place for humanity?
Maybe that’s global adoption, small circular economies, mining and micro-grids in places that desperately need electrification, human rights, fighting for the rights of women and children, survivors of domestic abuse, activism, political protest, privacy and freedom tech, running for political office, education and teaching, running media, podcast, film, conferences, running a local meetup, accept Bitcoin at your local business and being an outspoken advocate for Bitcoin as peer-to-peer payments…
The list is literally endless. Mine will continue to be advocating for Bitcoin to Americans from the political left, reimagining what a progressive movement could be powered by Bitcoin, and fighting for working class and everyday Americans to get and use Bitcoin while fighting the oligarchs and corrupt government that want to strip them of rights and financial freedom.
I’m really not looking forward to the “greedy crypto bro” narratives that will continue rolling out over the next several years. Sure, some Bitcoiners will become fabulously wealthy (and already have) and may spend their Bitcoin on 100 Lambos.
But for me, and many of us, it’s more simple. The system screwed us and generations in a way that we’re simply trying to have a better savings to pay for our overpriced college degrees, afford a house, and afford a comfortable life and support our family. Period! Bitcoin is helping me do that.
Should even more wealth and purchasing power occur, I look forward to being able to give back, as far as time and resources, as possible to my community and those in need.
And for many who may be low and working class in America, just finding whatever little savings you have to chip into owning Bitcoin. Over time it will give them the power to say No. No to staying in abusive households/relationships, no to the abusive landlord or work situation, no to a job you hate, no to government support that is tedious and cumbersome and not all that helpful anyway, and so much more. It also gives you the power to say Yes to investing your time and energy in things you want, and what brings you joy in this oh so short time we have on this earth.
You want non-corporate, non-mainstream media from a progressive-left perspective?
Follow @TPBPod@jyn_urso
I have a feeling it’s going to play a huge role in the independent media landscape
I literally don’t care how it gets done. Let’s just find a way to do it. Government, private, nonprofit, whatever combo. This is what represents a strong progressive platform in America
- higher, livable wages
- access to great healthcare
- worker protections and 4 day work weeks
- account for AI and if UBI is needed and to what extent
- freedom of speech and more freedoms in general, including privacy, financial freedom, pro-choice, etc
- legalize marijauna and psychedelics
- anti-war. End forever wars
- a bitcoin friendly environment and encourage Bitcoin for workers, pensions, etc. tackle affordability head on
- separate church and state money and state
- overturn citizens united, get money out of politics
- take climate change seriously
That’s just a start.
Ok…but isn’t that the same as taking climate serious? Again I care about the ends.
Lots of Americans believe in man made climate change, like majority.
But yeah going nuclear and finding unique ways to build out renewables, methane capture, etc.
I mostly buy this theory, ngl.
I’m really, really pissed at progressives because I truly believe it’s quite damaged the exact issues and things we want to fight for (more protections for minority communities, more acceptance, etc)
Politics involves strategy. It involves the long game, thinking about the end goal not the immediate reaction.
Progressive today have COMPLETELY lost the inability to strategize and see the forest through the trees.
You know who was a brilliant fucking strategist even though he had the right to burn it to the ground every day? Martin Luther King Jr. Study his strategy, just statecraft, his communication, when he fought and when he paused.
There is only immediate feeling and it’s a losing strategy for progressives today.
Wokeness (to the level it’s risen to today) wasn’t brought into progressive politics until Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren post 2016. Oh, and btw, we’ve only seen recreation in many ways in pro-choice and lgbtqia+ rights, so great job from their “movements” and politics that have failed.
Prior to this it was the economy, fighting corrupt corporations and government, economic populism for working class, and anti-war. That was the progressive movement, and what I associate with as a progressive.
And yes I’m being very actively canceled by today’s progressives lol. Don’t care, gonna keep pushing for a move back to sanity (which behind the scenes is way more what people want than the minority of online fake progressives!) and forward with Bitcoin and a real progressive agenda that actually benefits everyday people and doesn’t pay lip service on your woke chart.
Fair point. I guess I’m saying it was cemented, rewarded, and affirmed by top Democratic leadership as THE standard post 2016, and if you even question it you are cast out of the party or fringe at best
As pundits analyze and criticize what went wrong, I offer my take on what Dems should focus on (like…relating to the struggles of everyday Americans especially on the economy and stop the pejorative virtue signaling)
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/politics/democrats-must-embrace-bitcoin-to-survive
Journalists will surely slam Bitcoin in new and different ways this cycle—all things Trump/GOP, and the wealth Bitcoiners will have.
It’s important more than ever that folks see there’s another side of Bitcoin, and a new progressive collation is building and returning to some roots of the economy, the working class, occupy, and yeah this new thing called Bitcoin.
That will be a core focus for @TPBPod going forward.
Status update on this. Massachusetts Dems and probably the DNC are fake virtue signaling and trying to cancel him. Calling him bigoted and transphobic.
And they wonder why people leave the party and hate democrats, for even raising the fair question he is. Insanity.
Oh and btw he questioned if Nancy Pelosi should be speaker years ago, had a short presidential run, is known to have independent thought, so they’ve been looking for an excuse to gut him anyway 🙃
This party has two choices…pivot, cool down on identity politics and relate to everyday Americans or go extinct (or just exist in college towns on the coast…oh wait until they cancel you then too). I fear the latter will happen, they’re done.
But yeah, I’m trying to say hey progressives let’s get back to the fights we used to do around the powerful corporate lobbies, around economics, and actually supporting all Americans and minorities, not just patronizing identity politics. Is that too much to ask? nostr:note16uyrg7nyehc9apvg7s74s7wykc7m8fef25rpsx3az5r27l858vyscystdj
So if Kamala won, the assumption was that maybe they’d go after X and “right wing” personalities, thus driving them to nostr
Now what if X/elon start banning left-wing accounts from X and they start flocking to nostr 😂
I’m a student of revolutionary Brandeis professors.
I can’t help but be led by and study the work of money and power in all things in our world.
That drives my political activism. Always has.
It’s why I’m so interested in #Bitcoin
I think my response now is a bit simpler—the left, and democrats, need to get back to letting everyday Americans know they give a damn about their financial situation and with practical solutions, including being open and truly progressive on things like bitcoin.
The reality is, Americans are full of contradictions as well. Trump and right populism has definitely won, for now. But there’s still a huge percentage of Americans looking for a left response they can get behind (pro environment, pro choice, pro social safety net and healthcare/wage support, etc)
https://bitcoinmagazine.com/politics/democrats-must-embrace-bitcoin-to-survive
I’m trying to fight it.
I really am.
But my spidey senses are tingling real hard now that the U.S. government is “warming up” to Bitcoin about what this means.
I’m much more at ease with Bitcoin as begrudgingly accepted or resisted by government. I’m not sure we’ll like what’s on the other side of this 😖 https://i.nostr.build/kBGjt34hZpyi4FY7.gif
What I’m watching this next year from Trump admin/congress:
- what “compliance” they may throw at Bitcoin (mining, regulation, etc) as US government gets more involved
- makeup of Trump’s cabinet and other top positions—I fear way too many war hawks
