Update on oregonbitcoiners.com:
If you are already a nostr user, You can add the relay wss://oregonbitcoiners.com/relay to your relay list, and you will start to show up in the relays global feed. If you get the oregonbitcoiners.com nostr address (nip-05) you will also show up in the relays feed that only displays posts from users that have the nostr address.
(sorry if you already got the nip-05, but the DB nuke got rid of your record for the nip-05, and you'll have to re-register)
If you are not a nostr user and sign up to oregonbitcoiners.com to make your key. You can use oregonbitcoiners.com, but you will only see what's posted to the relay. And only be able to interact with the people using the relay.
To keep the global feed clean, I'm not going to ingest a bunch of stuff from the rest of nostr. You can import your keys you make with Oregon bitcoiner to any other app to reach out to the rest of the network.
Ok, so good and bad news.
Bad news. I broke the oregonbitcoiners.com relay and ditto instance's database. Good news, it's back up and running. Bad news, If you were using it and the nip-05 you'll need to re-register, sorry for that. Not too many people used the Nip-05 anyway.
It should be a bit nicer to use now. I reduced the amount of relays it posts to and reads from (mainly trying to limit the BS that shows up in global for the instance)
Going to keep fiddling with it a bit and not break things this time.
lol shit sorry for the late reply. It's well documented. https://docs.soapbox.pub/ditto/install
If you need a hand, I'm happy to help you set one up. I'm talking nostr on the next meetup in Eugene hoping to get some more Oregon folks on here. 😅
I'm testing a Ditto instance for Oregon based Bitcoiners. I was gonna just run it for my local meet up (in eugene), but I decided to do it for the whole state as the domain was available and someone from Portland expressed interest as well.
That's pretty close to the right terms. Small community groups could be a local node or a LAN. The rest of nostr is your WAN (wide area network). or something.
I didn't start the meetup, but I'm in Eugene. There are a lot of Portland bitcoiners. I'm talking with someone up there to try and get them on this instance.
We do a first Thursday meet up every month in Eugene.
