I'm writing my first novel. It feels like I'm wandering alone in a dense forest without a compass. It's overwhelming. Most days I end up feeling like I'm crazy for even trying this.
Any published #authors have advice for the n00bs on how to keep our eyes on the prize?

@422e8c1d Not at all. It's just the logical conclusion of publishers undervaluing writers for decades and surveillance capitalists eating away at the means of production from underneath creative professionals.
It's taken about twenty years, all said.
@422e8c1d Yeah, I'm not at all looking for a social element. Not saying it can't be social, but I want to find people actively writing on a daily basis and working toward goals.
I like your advice, but also, I kind of want to work with people outside my niche because I like those different perspectives. Also, I'm not quite sure what niche I belong to.
I read a post on Reddit yesterday where an experienced writer/author recommended forming a 'working group' of folks who can serve as beta readers for one another, with periodic meetups to discuss things.
How does one go about creating something like that? Should I just make a 'want ad'?
