Start with making friends with writers in your niche.

You're more likely to get reasonable feedback from those most familiar with tropes and cliches.

Keep it async.

You're more likely to get buy in from people who don't have to re-arrange their calendar.

Yet another Discord/Slack will more likely get a cold shoulder.

Email chains work well.
Shared google folders work well.

@422e8c1d Yeah, I'm not at all looking for a social element. Not saying it can't be social, but I want to find people actively writing on a daily basis and working toward goals.

I like your advice, but also, I kind of want to work with people outside my niche because I like those different perspectives. Also, I'm not quite sure what niche I belong to.

I was mostly eyeing that "beta read" aspect when regarding niche.

I have a Slack (one!) with a collection of about 10 fellow travelers.

- An agent with a pen name.
- An accountant struggling to get work noticed.
- A few long-time self published writers, some of us full time
- A lesser number of trad and hybrid, some of them full time

We talk about stuff. Brainstorm covers and blurbs but *never* beta read or critique each other's work.
