@422e8c1d Yeah, I'm not at all looking for a social element. Not saying it can't be social, but I want to find people actively writing on a daily basis and working toward goals.
I like your advice, but also, I kind of want to work with people outside my niche because I like those different perspectives. Also, I'm not quite sure what niche I belong to.

I was mostly eyeing that "beta read" aspect when regarding niche.
I have a Slack (one!) with a collection of about 10 fellow travelers.
- An agent with a pen name.
- An accountant struggling to get work noticed.
- A few long-time self published writers, some of us full time
- A lesser number of trad and hybrid, some of them full time
We talk about stuff. Brainstorm covers and blurbs but *never* beta read or critique each other's work.
