I can’t troubleshoot now, but from the experience with YT rips and trying to transcode them, usually makes them either bigger or corrupted. We’ve seen a fair share of such uploads in the past. You can try “curl -O <url>” and then use ffprobe to see what is going on with it. Usually it is either broken bframe or something to that tune. Uploading the direct YT download is the most optimal way to share them.
YT videos are already well compressed and none of the transcoding makes them smaller at the same resolution. And yes, ffmpeg based solutions are much better
@YakiHonne I love the new look of the app, bar few issues that will probably prevent me from using it frequently:
- Default view shows Trending threads, with no way to change it to follows as default.
- Follows view shows notes (replies and new threads), with no obvious way (to me) to change it to the threads only with no replies.

Before you ask, the search (semantic search with advanced filtering) is in works with the tentative release plan by the end of this year. The main blocker is our current metadata pipeline and processing that I need to rework and rollout. So no, I am not ignoring user feedback or holding features hostage (like some would describe it), it’s just the problem of having to run an always available service and ensure backwards compatibility and zero downtime migration. Just released a few minor fixes and optimizations for the nostr.build:
- if uploaded GIF does not achieve at least 5% size reduction through optimizations and resizing, it is left as is.
- We have had support for no_transform flag for the nip96 API, and now account page allows you to enable it for the current session in the account web app.

Yeah, fairly simple indeed. Scan for nudity and then scan the same image for the age of people in it. Then human has to verify if it’s CSAM and report it if it is. Fairly effective given the simplicity, and good at catching AI CSAM
Err, where do you think people upload their media when they use nostr? Who do you think takes care of hosting it and also becomes a target for uploads that shouldn’t be happening?

I can’t point to the exact logs, but the most common failures we see is with the timestamp being out of range (+/-60 seconds). We can’t help with people not having their phones synchronize their time. We see at least a few hundred requests a day with that issues, and all of them are from Android phones. 🫡
Hmmmm, it seems we had a bug that would have prevented Pro users from using the SD Core model in the AI Studio. I’ve patched it now and all of the subscribers can use it. It is also a default model. If you are having issues, please always raise them! Sorry about that! 🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
