I looked up the replacement, which says it's a "AC/DC Switching Power Supply Transformer 29V/24V 2A Adapter with AC power wall cord"
okay I'm not happy with the voltage being a plus or minus! generally when you buy a DC power brick they tell you what volts you get, you know?
this electrical device is a special sort of terrible: They labeled the polarity of the DC power jack, but not the voltage (or current, for that matter)
friendly reminder to WIPE YOUR MEDIA.
I just got handed a floppy disk my roommate pulled out some weird device at e-waste, and I imaged it.
it's got medical data on it! patient data, the EEGs of a child from 1999
ahh, the true mechanical keyboard experience:
you type something in a meeting while muted and google meet is like "hey, are you talking? you're muted!"
I wonder if any company has set up a policy to temporarily revoke system access to employees on vacation.
You're on vacation, why are you logging into the JIRA instance? Go sit on a beach or climb a mountain or something.
It's been 36 years but I'm still mad at IBM for using identical connectors for the keyboard and mouse on the ps/2.
Come on. Not even a key pin? Or just make them interchangeable, it wouldn't take much more circuitry!
I love the 1990-ass design of Railroad Tycoon's save system.
not "which directory do you want to save your game?", but "which drive has your save game disk?"
You know, cause you'd put the game in drive A:, and if you were fancy, you'd save to a blank disk in drive B:
Too poor to have two drives? Gotta swap them to save, then swap back to keep playing.

"College Board of the United States – permits the use of most graphing or CAS calculators that do not have a QWERTY-style keyboard for parts of its AP and SAT exams"
I love, LOVE that the keyboard layout is one of the things that can disqualify a graphing calculator for use in exams
Here's the real question about the new unity pricing:
This last week I've been injecting code at runtime into a running unity game. I'm technically never launching MY game, just some other game that I'm now controlling.
How much do I owe? Does unity owe me some money? Do I owe money to both unity and the game's developer?

@8529af48 I've said before that Netflix should do a deal with a RiffTrax or similar group, and just let you switch on their commentary for arbitrary movies.
Here's the PCB. You can see that they already had to make it non-rectangular to give us room for the HDMI + TRRS jacks, if they just did the same on the opposite side they'd have room for the VGA.
Maybe they were reusing an plastic injection mold and didn't have one with a VGA hole, but they had one with USB and still wanted to add VGA?
