Of all of the members and ex-members of Yes, Bruford is my favourite.
I wasn't going to look for the Waters album, but I think I'll have to now, just to hear what caused that reaction. 😊

1. My working week is over.
2. Battlestar Galactica has a God-tier soundtrack. Can't get enough of it.
3. Actually looking forward to going back to work on Monday.
@a1dedbb4 Thank you. Hope your day turns out better than mine. Supposed to have 5 classes today, but 4 cancelled. And the 1 was for a student whose class is now closed because he's gone to work for a new company. So there's a bit of employment desolation around today.

Er, no, nothing went wrong, it did what it's supposed to do. Your content is worth me disabling my ad blocker. Good bye.
OK, this is a new experience. Thanks to a bright idea from my nurse, I'm now walking around with sanitary towels on my feet. 🤣 Cos they're absorbent, right?
That was probably the most irritating lesson ever. Difficult to build momentum in a class when the learner is constantly being interrupted by the outside world. Kudos to him for managing it, though.
I wonder whether there's a semantic or pragmatic difference between "It is I/me" and "That is I/me"
To me, the contracted form "It's I" sounds completely wrong, whereas "It's me" is fine. Whereas in the 'full' form, "It is I" sounds OK, if a bit prissy, and "It is me" sounds a bit odd.
On the other hand, "That is I" sounds incorrect while "That is me" sounds fine.
All very messy.
#Linguistics @languagelovers group
@3b40f373 Yes, except there is a vocal minority of speakers of British English that claims that only "It is I/That is I" is correct. Palpable nonsense, but there you go.
@475ee22a That's a fair point, absolutely. I would just say that "assistive" is the right word. It still needs human input or it's going to produce bland unengaging texts. In my experience so far, at least.
#NowPlaying The Clash - "London Calling"
It's been a good long time since I heard this album, but I was bowled over when first heard it. "Guns of Brixton" is a particular favourite - that bassline - but I think the whole album is pretty much flawless.

It's the lack of control I'm experiencing with respect to my dad's treatment. My thoughts and my consent are not welcome.
I know the NHS is under unbearable pressure at the moment, but not informing families as to what's going on is unconscionable.
#NowPlaying "Illegal Art"
An album of songs that have been the subject of legal challenges due to copyright infringement. Great stuff. And still timely.

#NowPlaying The Men They Couldn't Hang - "Waiting for Bonaparte"
Listening to this thanks to a recommendation from an old friend. A very impressive album, although not in a genre I really listen to much. I can appreciate the artistry though.

I gather that ignorant racist misogynist c^nt Laurence Fox has now called his former employer - GB News (the UK's own Fox News bullshit channel) - the "home of cancel culture".
Watching the dying rats eating their own. Not an edifying prospect.
