Recently I deleted all of the posts I ever made publicly about Bitcoin that were associated with my meatspace identity.
I sold at the bottom of the last bear. It's too volatile for me. I'll stick with my approved govt coupons like a good citizen.
I've turned 1-2 people into hodlers but that's it. No more evangelism for me, the risk/reward doesn't add up.
Work in progress. Forgot how much time was involved in the building part before even getting to the painting.
1/2 of my old P3 paint pots survived storage but I should have enough to start this weekend.

I think I'm going to get back into painting minis. Maybe do AoS or 40k at first as a warmup and see how far I can push my skill level. Maybe branch into display painting.
It's been a long time since I had a hobby that wasn't sats or firearms related 😂
That's awesome! Yeah I'm looking at Skaven pretty hard rn. It would scratch that nostalgia itch and the new models are leagues better than they used to be.
GW has really outdone itself on model design for the last few years.

Decaf is taking some getting used to, but I had to cheat and sneak in a teaspoon of the real stuff in this morning.
After weeks without, a little is going a long way 😂
It's gone downhill a lot the last few years IMO.
It feels like it's turned into a total cash grab from endless reprinting of desirable cards, alternate art, special cards, etc. Power creep is pretty crazy.
I just play commander and cube draft on occasion now. The new stuff just isn't appealing to me.
What do you play in Legacy? Before I stopped playing competitively in 2014 that was my favorite format - Dredge will always be close to my heart even if it didn't feel like I was playing Magic 😂
The ones who will hate us the most are going to be the ones we tried to convince for years.
Human psychology is nothing if not predictable.

I finally made the move to black coffee today in order to do intermittent fasting.
It tastes a lot better now that I've weened off of sugar the last few months.

I used to have TDS. I no longer blindly hate him or the people who like him as I was directed to for years.
Growth is a funny thing to watch in hindsight. I went from far-left to Ayn Rand within the space of just a few years because of exposure to the ideas and principles that are discussed in many Bitcoin circles.
This'll be the first election in 20+ years where I don't vote blue. Still undecided on whether I want to participate at all.
That's where I'm torn. Participation legitimizes the system that's been constructed to keep us as docile tax slaves. But I hate a lot of the ideas and policy that come out of the left wing of the uniparty.
My political views ossified into far left liberalism because of Iraq.
Disillusionment with lib politics started started probably in the Obama years, but I kept consuming mass media and it kept me more of less compliant.
I still don't like Trump, but the media coverage of the assassination attempt was eye opening and what I needed to really see how brainwashed I had been.
I feel like maybe there's a disconnect. Trump lies and exaggerates a lot. I'm not endorsing the man, I'm only saying that I am no longer hating him like the media pushes people to do. I am no longer looking at him and automatically dismissing everything he says, or his policy proposals.
Both left and right are wrong about most everything as far as I'm concerned, because what they disagree on is how to spend other people's money, and how best to force compliance from people who disagree with them.
I'm done being gaslit. Vote your conscious but for me that means leaving the Dems behind. Whether that means RFK, a voided ballot, or the orange man, I'll figure that out when I get there.
I do wish you a pleasant evening though.
I like carrying as little bulk as possible, so for me a micro-9 offers good set of tradeoffs for what I need out of a carry gun.
I love to see other people's takes on EDC as well. it's always interesting to hear different approaches.
Poor Germany got the right message to 'separate money from state,' unfortunately something was lost in translation.
No better teacher than pain though.
Still relevant.

I feel this note deeply. I overthink social interactions to the nth degree because I don't want to be misunderstood, and my word is painfully important to me.
I think some people hit the 'your bullshit conservative ideas' and jump the tracks.
The note wasn't particularly controversial. TLDR decentralized services are for everyone 😂
I have no love for Ver, but I'm not going to celebrate anyone getting caught in the gears of the injustice system.
This trend is going to accelerate going into the real bull market. Examples are going to be made.
Boating accidents will not protect you if the state thinks you might still control property it wants.

His (and other's) warning about yield farming through Celsius, blockfi, etc saved me from getting rekt, so I do have a bias, but I believe he is a good faith actor and I appreciate his contributions.
I don't trust him any more than I trust anyone else on the internet. I learned the hard way years ago not to trust product recommendations in this space from ANYONE. At the end of the day you have to DYOR and take responsibility for your own decisions.
I don't think he's leading anyone to slaughter. I think there are too many lemmings following him and others blindly as a mental shortcut, and that's inherently dangerous.
Ikr? Overheard at the bar someone complaining that fast food was so expensive it was 'killing' them.
I split a top sirloin with my wife tonight, with asparagus and garlic bread. It was maybe around 25ish total. People are literally paying more for the privilege of being poisoned in a convenient way. It's insanity.
I skew pretty heavily towards the risk-averse and if I were in a similar situation I would probably opt for getting a job (Bitcoin or elsewhere) and plan to be there long enough for the other endeavor to start bearing fruit.
This way protects your stack for potentially another cycle, gives you a step back from what you are doing so that when you return you'll have a fresh set of eyes and renewed energy.
Just my two sats, it's hard to give advice for these things because there are so many variables that are unknown.
Reconnected with an old friend briefly today. One of the downsides of eschewing social media is that you aren't in the loop.
Am now processing the deaths of two friends from my old crowd circa 2000-2008 that I had lost contact with.
It's a weird feeling when this happens, it's almost like the universe contracts a tiny bit. They weren't close friends (obv), but still.
I know there's a lot of negativity floating around right now, and I don't intend for this to be as such. Just thinking out loud as I reminisce over a drink.
It took me a few years of panic stacking until I realized this. Life is better when you are intentional about where you spend your money, it's not always about saving.
2a rights are literally infringed by every US jurisdiction in some form or another. It's not any more magical or politician proof than any of the other 'rights' that we cede to them daily.
The gov can and will conjure exceptions to amendments at will and enforce them to make examples even knowing that the law will *eventually, maybe* be stricken down.
Lowery is an influencer farming engagement. He may say something novel, useful, or interesting eventually, but this was not it.
They will use CBDCs or similar tool for us poor downtrodden peasants 'for our protection.'
They are going to run off-books accounting to do laundering. Maybe even utilize things like Bitcoin + privacy tools which would be painfully ironic.
In other words, it's just another layer of 'rules for thee' and they will continue to use traditional laundering tools like war or foreign aid, shell organizations and other tricks.
They don't even need to hide their activity very deep. Media is in their pocket, and most are asleep. As long as it isn't blatant they can continue their grift.
I am not a developer. I believe that I am capable of learning code and building software if push comes to shove. I have spent time in years past trying to learn JS and python but ultimately lost interest from lack of motivation.
Well, motivation hath come knocking, so to speak.
But I don't know where to start. I'm interesting in contributing to privacy and sovereignty focused projects or maybe building something myself eventually, but I don't know what I need to educate myself on to get started. Could be specific languages or tech stacks, tools to understand, or even methodologies that devs commonly use. I want to learn but need help with the steps to take to get started.
Thoughts, suggestions, ideas, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you #plebchain #asknostr
This is great, but just to be clear some of these things I don't understand.
Clone a repo - that's a GitHub thing right? I'll add that to tools I have to become familiar with
What is an ide?
Some code is relatively easy to understand, but much that I've seen is very opaque and requires a baseline understanding of programming concepts that I'm not incredibly fluent with.
Wait, sorry @Vic I think I understand now.
You're saying the best place to start is to find an existing project I find interesting, find the rep and copy it to tinker with and test small changes.
Learn by doing essentially. Appreciate the suggestion, I'll poke around and see what I can find.
