I’m not being dense, that just doesn’t matter at all. You people are being legitimately unhinged.
You neglect to mention increasing real world adoption, alongside bridging services like Bitrefill and Spritz, Strike (for KYC) and Spendit (no KYC) that allow you to buy gift or prepaid VISA cards for any IRL purchases Bitcoin itself can't natively buy. But you've already made up your mind on something you know very little about, so I'm not wasting a further breath on you. NGMI, by the way.
> You neglect to mention increasing real world adoption... Do you people know anything about what nostr is? Do you know how crypto is being tied to nostr? Explain the intent, if you know what it is.
Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays Bitcoin is a big, but not essential, part of Nostr; you can very easily spin up a relay which mutes any mention of Bitcoin and/or crypto shit, and you can choose not to have a Lightning address linked to your account if you have lacking or zero interest in receiving micropayments for being insightful, interesting or posting funny. Nostr actively addresses the shortcomings of the fediverse model (Mastodon specifically, because it fucking sucks) by distributing post and profile information across every existing relay; if a relay (or multiple) censor you, you can easily swap them for other relays that don't or won't censor you. Compare that to the fediverse, where if a triggered tranny janny (cough cough, D.S.) defederates your instance, no one on that instance can see the others' users or posts. It's not as if I've left the fediverse fully, because otherwise I wouldn't be here wasting my fucking time explaining a protocol to you that you have no genuine interest in. (Thanks, @Alex Gleason.)
Don't forget to mention other two important aspects: 1. NOSTR market (Silk Road on steroids) https://darthcoin.substack.com/p/lnbits-nostr-market 2. You could run a private NOSTR relay only for your family, friends, drug dealers, whatever... and have a nice private chat that nobody can trace it. Have fun!
