Web of trust was discussed as a good way to find trusted content from your network but it’s not effective for new users with an empty follow list.

Social Onboarding will fix this. If we make tools and incentives for friends to share nostr with friends, retention and access to WoT could benefit.  

 Yep. We talked about how the fediverse has a kind of city state model of trust and safety, bluesky has a choose your moderator provider, and nostr uses a network / web of trust model. I thought nostr was pretty well received by the academics.  

 Nice to see it all on the table for discussion.  

 I think nostr should have a "choose your moderator" option. I haven't coded any of that yet though. 

 @Little Mikey D me too. I got a demo of bluesky’s ozone moderation tool. I want to play with it to see if it would work for nostr content too. It would of course be something where you’d be able to choose which moderators you wanted.
