No, for sure it's not ONLY but you can see how a new user would have that impression, and tbf they're not that wrong, maybe predominantly would be a better word. I think that's a fair impression. And I agree as you say, client recommendations of users and trending posts are not remotely enticing unless you came here for bitcoin content / memes / slogans, which is really not what most 'normie' users are looking for. (I'm using 'normie' slightly grudgingly here, as I don't think non bitcoiners are necessarily normies obvs, I think we can all agree on that lol).
Having a little go on satellite.earth and their community section makes me more hopeful, obviously it's still a bit rusty, but I can see it being v useful
Oh absolutely. That's why most "normies" back out when they join or don't bother joining at all. Unfortunately, nostr is in the "chicken and egg" phase so it's kind of difficult to pull in enough new and "normal" users to help diversify content enough to start a chain reaction. Sadly content isn't the only issue nostr has right now.
Yeah, this was sort of my initial point. I think a lot is forgiven, especially as something is being built if there is the pull of content/community, within reason of course, it has to be mostly usable lol.
