McCarthy was ousted because he was willing to work with people on both sides of the aisle. Please, please think about the implications of this.
@2a70c54d That's not it.
@2a70c54d Yes! #McCarthy removed for getting a bipartisan deal that had more than 300 votes. I thought that's what we want in a government. What is wrong with these MAGA people? What is wrong with the rest of the GOP to tolerate them? #RepublicansAreTheProblem
@2a70c54d I think the stopgap budget deal is the *pretext* to get rid of him. Funding for #Ukraine was notably left out of the spending bill and now who knows how long it will take for the House to get its shit together. SO, I think the timing of Gaetz's motion to oust was also about interrupting support to #Ukraine. Too many Rs are tangled up with russia. Too much money funneled to the Right through the NRA. I'd be happy to be wrong, but I just don't buy that #Putin isn't a player here.
@2a70c54d Yes and no. McCarthy was forced to acquiesce because his party is more focused on Dipshittery than Governing (republican for 'block everything') The dipshittery prevents repubs from coming up with "real" excuses to oppose Dems, and then McCarthy gets real pressure from his members up for re-election in swing states. He's a lickspittle maga turd. Now we'll get a different lickspittle maga turd. 1/2
