@7ccb675f are you going for trad publishing?
@f53e7790 Trying to, though it's probably futile.
@7ccb675f what is it about trad publishing that you favor over self-publishing? I think there are pros and cons to both. Some writers seem to view self-publishing as a sort of consolation prize, like I failed at what I wanted to do so I guess I'll have to go with Plan B. More and more though I see writers who see self-publishing as the far better option in its own right.
@f53e7790 The money required to do it, for one. And I'd just really like to feel validated by a professional (agent, editor, publisher) for my work!
@7ccb675f It can be costly. My editor created a package deal for me but editing is still my biggest expense. She is worth it. If I were rich I'd pay her more than she asks 😅. I queried mainly because of cost concerns but then I saw so many querying authors opting to get professional editing beforehand and, honestly, not having to pay for that was the only thing I liked about trad. 🤷♀️ @f53e7790
