Have you ever used obtainium on Android? If not give it a try for your apps. 

Obtainium can scrape github projects for APK file releases and install them for you. 

Go to the releases page and download the APK file from the latest release. https://github.com/JunkFood02/Seal/releases/tag/v1.12.1

 at the bottom of the github page there are the releases to download apk, and the app is also on fdroid.
the app doesnt stream, it only downloads video and audio if you put the url of the video (i use it in conjuction with mull browser with ublock0 to navigate yt without ads)... it could not be a drop-in replacement for all use cases 

 Open "Releases" page, click on the APK link, then click through the scary "you're leaving the walled garden, dragons will eat you" warnings.

(F-Droid is better because it updates, but APK from Github works)

I searched on fdroid, it wasn't that.
