My recommendation would be make sure you don’t buy a fiat house with exterior finishes and roofing that’ll need replacing in 10-15 years. And purchase it for it’s utility value and the likelihood that you can make the ground it sits on PRODUCE something like food and animal protein to offset your living costs and get you through hard times, not to impress anyone. @jackspirko just did a great episode of The Survival Podcast dedicated to some of these topics. Great episode! I have to boost the crap out of it later tonight.

Thanks for sharing the podcast, will listen to it this weekend. We have the land and have planted many fruit trees the last couple of years. We eat from the veg garden nearly every day. All that is missing is the newbuild.
Cool! You have it made in the shade! Have you considered an RTM home? I have tons of tips about those. I used to supervise the RTM division and the new stick build division for the largest new home builder in our area.
