I'd say I've become theologically quite competent against normies but what is that really worth if I keep sinning like a retard :sadness:
@John Paul Grips That's a fair point. What are you gonna do about it?
@John Paul Grips so stop sinning??
@John Paul Grips Keep trying your best, confess, repent and do the appropriate penance. https://eientei.org/media/dd61006f08177920de6fa844dde03310325d5621eeb8e228094b5287cf0e133f.jpg?name=tyyljj37ibjb1.jpg
@John Paul Grips Reminds me of a quote from the Imitation "What good does it do to speak learnedly about the Trinity if, lacking humility, you displease the Trinity? Indeed it is not learning that makes a man holy and just, but a virtuous life makes him pleasing to God. I would rather feel contrition than know how to define it. For what would it profit us to know the whole Bible by heart and the principles of all the philosophers if we live without grace and the love of God? Vanity of vanities and all is vanity, except to love God and serve Him alone."
@John Paul Grips I think oft of what Kempis says in The Imitation of Christ: 「I had rather feel contrition than be skilful in the definition thereof. If thou knewest the whole Bible, and the sayings of all the philosophers, what should all this profit thee without the love and grace of God?」 ofc I have this problem as well. How far from the light we fall.
