He π is π the π― sixth scientist of Chinese origin to receive this award and the second π₯ in the basic research category since 1962. π― Chen, 58, was π born in Fujian province, graduated from Fujian Normal University in 1985, and π earned a PhD from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1991.
